The Atomic Shift 13 MNC Ski Bindings are designed to give advanced skiers the freedom to explore the resort or the backcountry. This is the original hybrid binding with the ability to transform from a safe and stable downhill binding into a tech toe binding for touring (hiking to earn turns). These bindings have an easy step-in and automatic wing adjustment to securely hold the boot while skiing. The Atomic Shift 13 MNC allows a skier to have the right tool for the job no matter what adventure is planned for the day.

Key Features:

  • Dual Mode Toepiece: The MNC (multi norm compatible) toepiece for skiing works with a variety of soles, including alpine, grip walk (GW), walk to ride (WTR), and touring. It requires a boot with tech toe for the hiking/touring mode.
  • Freeski Brakes: Self-retracting brakes maintain a close position on the ski, so they don't catch on the snow while skiing.
  • Hike and Ride Switch: The lever at the toe switches between hike and ski mode.
  • DIN Range: The 6-13 DIN range is recommended for advanced to expert level skiers.

These bindings are an awesome option for skiers who love to take quick tours, but that isn’t their main dedication. Because of their weight, I wouldn’t recommend taking them for a super long tour, although it is doable if you like the extra challenge. These offer a super quality and reliable binding whether you’re in the backcountry or in the... Read more

Not ideal for
  • While the power transfer is still amazing, they aren’t the best on the market

If you're looking for one do-it-all binding, then the Atomic/Salomon Shift is the only way to go. No other binding on the market offers the same ease of use and versatility as the Shift. Transitioning from the alpine to touring setting is as simple as flipping a tab on the toe piece and locking down the brake. Once in skinning... Read more

The Salomon Shift 13 bindings are like an alpine skier’s dream come true. They’re versatile and easy to use, almost like having two sets of bindings in one. When you're charging down the resort's groomed runs, they work just like traditional alpine bindings, delivering a solid connection to your skis and precise control for carving turns. But here's the magic:... Read more

Amazing binding

I got them for use in jakson and have never been disappointed. I feel the binding has the rigid feel of a alpine binding but is light so it isn't the hard for hiking. Great binding

A Hybrid binding you can trust.

Originally posted at www.atomic.com on Jan 31, 2024
This is my second pair of shift bindings that I have owned. I paired these with my backland 107 in a 189cm for this season. This has proved to be a great combination as I am never worried about popping out of these bindings when dropping pillows and cliffs. Its light enough on the uphill and sturdy on the down. To be able to get that feeling of clicking in a "normal" binding when transitioning into ski mode is something that adds a sense of comfort and confidence. This is a hybrid binding that you can trust, and is a sturdy binding on the downhill. I will continue to use these for years to come for shorter missions and more downhill oriented touring days when the snow is deep and the cliffs are in!

Great experience with Nate
5 /5
Went through my first Curated purchase process, and was really surprised about how helpful Nate was in helping me select my new gear. He was friendly, asked the right questions, and and answered everything from me. He knew all the products he recommended, and let me know about some important differences in equipment that I needed to know before making my purchase. He also kept me under budget, which was extra awesome.

Brett was able to quickly put together a few ski selections for me within just a couple of minutes. It was difficult to pick one because they were all great suggestions! He has tons of knowledge and even has personal experience with a lot of the gear he recommends. He's also mindful about budget and I didn't feel pressured to fork out tons of money for something I didn't think I could afford. Awesome curator!

Spencer was super responsive and patient while I was trying to work from home but also purchased new snowboard gear. I had a lot of specifics I wanted to see with a new snowboard, bindings, and boots. Spencer was extremely knowledgeable and created a video to help me work through my available choices. Mark won't steer you wrong!
5 /5
This is the second year in a row I've come to curated to recommend me a pair of skis. Last year, I submitted for all mountain skis with a focus on carving and Mark recommended me a pair of Atomic Maverick 95ti 172. I've absolutely loved them. Mark nailed it on the head with these as I was easily able to accomplish my carving goals for that season. He/She/They provided quick responses, detailed technical explanations when asked, and an overwhelmingly pleasant experience. This year, I submitted for a freestyle ski and they paired me with Mark again! I'm not sure if curated does that by design but it was very convenient as I had access to our chat history from last year to look at the previous discussions we had. This time, Mark recommended a pair of Armada ARV 94 171. Once again, he/she/they provided quick feedback and solid technical advice about ski length and binding mounting positions. I have purchased these skis for next season so I have yet to try them, but many other reviews seem to agree with Mark's recommendation. I will return by the end to next season to document my experience, but I have full confidence in Mark's recommendation of these skis. Mark won't steer you wrong!

Franky made my re entry to boarding not only easy after 15 years. He made it fun. And he got me a killer deal on a 2024 board! Hope to see ya out there some day Frankie!!!!!!

If you don't know. Ask. I was clueless cuz the tech has changed since I stated. Frankie helped me get the exact board I wanted for the kind of terrain I was headed to. These are people who know what they are talking about. And are more than friendly. I got a collection of curated boards and all were winners. Only 1 came home.

I’ve been contemplating buying skis for over a year now and reached out to Bernard initially. A year and some later I was finally ready to bite the bullet. I messaged Bernard again hoping he would respond and give me a few more up-to-date suggestions and he responded immediately!! I was so appreciative as the thought of shopping for skis is so time consuming and such an investment!

Henry Backs up Recommendations with Knowledge
5 /5
As an advanced skier, but somewhat out of practice with buying ski equipment I found Henry to be very knowledgeable and useful in picking out the right gear for my needs. He did everything an expert could do online to check to make sure the gear would fit me and explained why he made his recommendations even when I questioned it. I'm excited to get my equipment and can't wait to test it out! Would definitely recommend Henry to anyone looking for a downhill ski set!
