Ideal for resort skiers looking to go out of bounds or enjoy some uphill travel. Here Salomon delivers top downhill performance with great and easy uphill mode. This is a fully certified downhill binding as good as you will find on any set of skis, yet you can easily transition to use it uphill or for touring purposes.
Ideal for
- Outstanding uphill and downhill performance
- Great for anyone with a DIN setting over 7
- Skiers north of 180 lbs that often need a 13 DIN binding
Not ideal for

The Salomon S/Lab Shift Bindings are a great backcountry binding option for anyone who feels like they will spend the majority of their season at the resort, or for backcountry skiers who want to prioritize the downhill experience. This is because they are a bit heavier than pin bindings that are found on other backcountry setups. The biggest advantage of... Read more

My girlfriend and I recently tried out the Salmon Shift MNC 13 bindings on her Elan Ripsticks 102 skis and we were both really impressed with their performance. The power transfer was excellent, allowing her to really lean into her turns and feel confident on the mountain.
One of the standout features of these bindings was their ability to handle steep,... Read more

Steer away from this one
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on May 19, 2024I would not recommend these bindings to anyone who is serious when it comes to alpine skiing and big mountain skiing.
I’ve ridden these for a quarter of a season, they have been used maybe 6 times and every single time the walk function with the breaks fall of the rail, and it’s not very fun being in the mountain on the good days realising that you have a faulty binding and you need to dismount the whole thing to get the walk function/snow break back on again to have it fall off mid of the trip….
Will ask for a refund or to get another set of bindings that is not the shift!

Work really well for both touring and downhill
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on Jan 13, 2024No noticeable difference with downhill binding - bit fiddly when switching to and from touring but otherwise no noticeable difference to touring bindings great product without any compromise in performance. Obviously heavier than pure touring but for what I want they are perfect

I knew I wanted skiing gear for the season, but didn’t know anything about the ski gear. Leo walked me through some great options and explained the differences. I really appreciate that he found sales items. On an aesthetic level he made sure things looked like they went together instead of just a random assortment of colors.

Leif was very patient with my picky nature for choosing my first board. He kept sending me really great options! His feedback for the boards were really insightful and the picks for my boots and bindings were perfect! This was a really fun and unique experience. Highly recommend to my friends that I’ll be riding with!

I was looking to purchase a new setup (snowboard, boots, bindings, and googles) for the upcoming season. Everything I have is very worn out. The last time I purchased a new setup was ten years ago, and I did not know where to start. So, I went through the "find your snowboard" quiz and was matched with Mike. From there we were able to really dial in my setup. I can't wait to try it out! Thank you Mike!

Super impressed!

I'm getting back into snowboarding after a lonnngg hiatus and Leif knew exactly what I needed for both my skill level and the exact mountain I will be spending time at this winter. I had a pretty small budget considering the cost of gear and he found me a board and bindings way under budget. I was thrilled. I was also delighted that I got a personalized video describing my options. Highly recommended!

Ryan was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I can in knowing nothing about snowboards and I gave him a weird task of trying to find a board that would work for both me and my brother at different weights. I appreciate how happy he was to help and how he kept checking in on me wanting to help.

Jay is Awesome!
5 /5
Jay is very knowledgeable when it comes to snowboards. If you really want to dive into the differences between the materials, and engineering behind snowboards Jay is the guy to get into these conversations with. I’ve been riding for 25 plus years, and at this point in my life, I really appreciate Jay being there to just talk about the different nuances of snowboarding. I feel he was really able to understand the type of riding I like to do, and where i want to take my riding, and made excellent gear recommendations.
