The Curated Take
As a mid-handicap golfer that has good swing speed (105+ mph), I've always struggled with consistent driving. The Cobra Radspeed XB (XTREME Back) driver, with the Project X Hzrdus RDX Blue shaft, has given me a forgiving club that also provides great distance potential. It looks and sounds great, and when you put a decent swing on the ball the flight is mid-high and penetrating (mid to low spin). I have the red/peacoat blue model which looks amazing. I also really like the look of the CNC milled infinity edge face; it's quite unique. Over the past year I have grown to trust this club and it's become the best weapon in my bag. I'm averaging around 270 yards, and have topped 300 yards on optimal-condition drives. I feel that the Radspeed XB driver at this time is a great value for the money. The only small drawback would be with the 460 cc head and high Moment of Inertia (MOI - which makes the head resistant to twisting) it may not be the most workable option for highly skilled golfers. However, if you are like me and want something that is easy to hit and forgiving, I recommend you consider this club.
- The Cobra Radspeed XB driver, with a high MOI rating, is extremely forgiving.
- The low Center of Gravity (COG) means this driver provides optimal launch conditions.
- The CNC milled Infinity Face feels great when centered or even on off-center strikes.
- The Cobra Radspeed XB driver, while very forgiving, is not the most workable Radspeed model.
The Cobra RadSpeed XB Driver is designed for 5-15 handicap players looking to control errant ball flights and produce more consistent ball flights to the center of the fairway. An adjustable hosel for loft and face angle allows further shot correction to amplify the forgiveness of the driver.
Key Features:
- Extreme Back Weighting – Positioning 20-grams of weight in the back of the driver creates optimum stability and a higher MOI(moment of inertia or, in other words, resistance to twisting) for more consistent ball flights.
- CNC Milled Infinity Face – Built with an infinity edge face design expands the milled area and the hitting area for maximum ball speeds off a large portion of the club face.
- Thin-Ply Carbon Wrap Crown – Using a new carbon fiber material in the crown saves 6 grams of discretionary weight repositioned to optimize performance and enhanced forgiveness.
- T-Bar Speed Chassis – A refined T-Bar Chassis enables more mass to be moved forward in the frame, decreasing spin while maintaining fast ball speeds.
- Adjustable Hosel – An adjustable hosel system allows players to further optimize the ball flight to hit specific points in the fairway.

Why did you choose this product?
The Cobra Radspeed XB driver became my off the tee weapon of choice after testing the standard Radspeed model and the Tour Edge c722 drivers. The Cobra XB driver provided the forgiveness of the Tour Edge with the optimal launch and spin characteristics of the standard Radspeed driver. It’s such a good-looking and balanced driver and it’s my favorite club in the bag. What is the value for the money versus other options?
At this point, the Cobra Radspeed XB driver is three generations old, but it features many pieces of technology (radial weighting, CNC milled Infinity Face) that enable it to perform very well against the LTDx and Aerojet models, all while costing less than $200. It is an incredible value for the money, and I haven’t even considered upgrading to the newer models because my XB driver is so good. What was your favorite moment with this gear?
At my home course, hole #11 is a 310 yard par 4, slightly downhill. I average over 270 yards with my Cobra Radspeed XB driver, but typically pump out around 10 drives a year that exceed 300 yards. As a 56 year old 14 handicapper, every time I connect on one of those bombs it fills me with joy. I've always wanted to drive hole #11, but the perfect drive had eluded me, until one evening in the summer of 2022. The planets aligned and the golf Gods smiled upon me, and I hit a mid-trajectory bullet straight at the center of the green. When I walked up and saw it sitting 30 feet from the hole I was elated. Please don't ask me if I made the eagle putt . . .100%
