The Apex Iron merges a few key Callaway technical attributes for the first time in a players-shaped iron to deliver an exceptional combination of workability and feel in a distance iron that doesn't lose ball speeds on off-center strikes. These irons are ideal for low to mid-handicap players who prefer a compact-shaped and beautifully sounding iron that offers great feel but also forgiveness.

  • Flash Face Cup - AI designed Flash Face Cup creates higher ball speeds and increased control of spin across a larger area of the face than previous Apex Irons.
  • Tungsten Energy Core - Built into each iron for precise center of gravity positions enhance distance and control where it is needed in each iron.
  • Forged Blade Feel in a Distance Iron - Known for their pure feel, the Apex 21 takes that to the next level with a 100% forged body inserted with Urethane Microsphere technology that softens vibrations from every iron in the set.

Classed up with True Temper Elevate 95 Steel shafts with a low kick point or UST Mamiya Recoil Dart 75 Graphite shafts with a mid kick point work perfectly with the iron set for enhanced launch and iron-specific performance.

The Apex is a players club that doesn't sacrifice distance or playability. The Callaway Apex irons are super high performance "player" irons providing cutting edge technology for maximum distance and forgiveness. They are forged from 1025 Carbon Steel for added feel and a classic, traditional look at address. They may look like traditional irons, but the technology under the hood is 21st Century stuff. The cup face wraps around the body for more pop on the clubface and the tungsten weighting increases ball speed across the entire face (high, low, heel or toe). I refer to this type of iron as the baby bear iron (not too player, not too game improvement... it's "just right").

This is a great all around performance club for the low handicapper that struggles with iron contact or for the mid handicapper who is more confident with their striking ability. This fits the gap between a bladed iron and a cavity back iron perfectly with little to leave out. It has a slightlighty bigger offset and top line, allowing for a more confident look behind the ball for those who are too intimidated by a bladed or pro set of irons. This club also has more weight in the bottom of the club than a bladed or pro iron set would, allowing for the center of gravity to be lowered in order to help those who have trouble with getting the ball in the air. Overall, if a pro set of irons is too scary and lacks the forgiveness needed, and a cavity back is too thick and has too much forgiveness in it, I'd fully recommend this product.

The Callaway Apex 21 irons have what Callaway calls Flash Face Cup technology which will allow for more forgiveness and distance on mishits. Additionally, they have increased the amount of tungsten in the construction of these irons to lower the CG and increase the launch angle off the face while still maintaining distance. As a forged iron, these are going to feel like butter. Not to mention, if they are too upright or too flat, the forging makes it much easier to bend them into the lie angle best for you.

They have the look of a classic iron with the horsepower of 21st century technology.

If you're looking to prioritize looks, workability of the iron, and wanting to try out a new brand, these would be the best choice for you. They would have a comparable top line and workability to the T200's and AP3's.

Callaway's Apex iron's have 'player iron' looks but has a ton of forgiveness because of how they were able to drop the center of gravity (CG) drastically through they're weighting system; a lower CG allows more weight displacement on the sole of the club, allowing for less loss of ball speed when hitting off center strikes.

The Apex 21 will provide unbelievable feel due it being the very first forged iron designed with Artificial Intelligence. What that creates faster ball speed with increased spin consistency, so those shots that may not have stuck the green from 140+ yards out are now stopping for you closer to the pin and staying put. The increased forgiveness provided by the Tungsten Energy core allows for better turf interaction with the CG being consistent throughout the face.

The Apex places tungsten weights on the heel and toe of the club as well as flash face technology. This will lead to higher ball speeds and increased spin. Callaway positioned the CG (Center of Gravity) so you get that higher launch and more forgiveness on off center shots. You can really feel the shots you hit, similar to what people say about the AP lines from Titleist.

The 2021 Apex 21 irons deliver an extraordinary level of forged performance and craftsmanship, more than anything Callaway has previously produced. They're the first forged iron designed with Artificial Intelligence for faster ball speeds and improved spin consistency. Increased forgiveness comes from the Tungsten Energy Core and enhanced shaping for better turf interaction.

This iron gives you the best of both worlds being somewhat forgiving, but also gives you the ability to "work" your shots and shape them how you want. With a 64g tungsten core, this club head is meant for distance and high ball speeds. The center of gravity in these irons is set perfectly to optimize for incredible distance and still maintaining forgiveness.
