The Marker Duke PT 16 is the next generation backcountry binding from Marker and is a great fit for backcountry skiers looking for a downhill-feeling binding from one the most reputable brands in the industry. When in ski mode, the binding is very similar to the Jester, with a Pivot 3 Freeride Heel and a blocky nose-piece that functions like a normal binding. On the uphill, the skier can walk naturally for long and steep ascents by locking the Lock and Walk Brake into position, removing the Ride and Hike Toe Piece hub, and stepping into a tech binding toe-piece.
Key Features:
Ride and Hike Toe – The toe piece converts from a conventional looking binding to a tech binding that allows for maximum movement during ski tours.
Removable Toe Piece – When in walk mode, the toe piece hub can be removed to reduce the uphill weight of the binding by 300 grams.
Lock and Walk Brake – With the boot siting further forward in the toe piece in walk-mode, the heel piece only needs to lock the brake down in order to convert from skiing to walking.

The Duke is a new binding from Marker - it skis just like their royal series bindings in resort, but when you want to hike, the toe piece flips up and exposes a tech toe pin system for free pivot no resistance hiking! This is an incredible system and it's been extremely well received and reviewed so far! Marker took their time producing this product and the quality shows.

A new binding offered from Marker, this thing is NOT a one-trick pony. You can ski this binding in the resort and take it out into the backcountry! Skiing all over the place and having a secure toe on the downhill. This binding transforms from an uphill pin insert touring binding, to a full-on downhill binding.
