Product details

The TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver is designed for the low to mid-handicap player seeking a reliably stable driver with key technologies aimed to maintain faster ball speeds for on center and off-center strikes. Targeting lower, heel and toe misses while shaped for speed, the Sim2 Max maximizes launch over more of the club face to get deep into any fairway.

Key Features:

  • Forged Ring Construction – A forged ring unites the full carbon crown, milled back cup face and massive rear weight for increased stability and enhanced forgiveness.

  • SIM Inertia Generator – Built with advanced geometry and a lightweight carbon sole redistributes mass for a deeper center of gravity.

  • Speed Injected Twist Face – Calibrating each head to the threshold of legal speed limits along with corrective face curvatures ramps up ball speeds and protects against heel and toe misses.

  • Thru-Slot Speed Pocket – Designed to maximize ball speeds especially on low mishits, a flexible thru-slot Speed Pocket is built into sole of the club.

  • Split Mass Weighting – Engineered with 16-grams of steel in the sole of the club at the rear delivers enhanced control of ball spin and allows for precise swing weights for a customized ball flight.

The TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver has given me more confidence than I have ever had before. I have owned the last five drivers that TaylorMade has launched and this is by far the best TaylorMade driver I have played. I have been looking for a consistent driver - and the SIm2 Max has really delivered. I am able to hit shots like draws and fades whereas before, it was more of a hope the club would deliver when needed.

Can you share a story of a happy purchaser whom you recommended this product to?
The recommended the TaylorMade SIM2 Max Driver to a customer who wanted longer distance and more forgiveness. He purchased the driver and after playing just one round, he knew it was the right club. He came back to me and told me how incredibly far his drives went. He said it felt like he was cheating out there. It's not cheating - the club is just that good.

What's the difference between SIM2 and SIM2 Max driver?
The Taylormade Sim2 and Sim2 max drivers are amazing for players of all skill levels. The Sim 2 is the smaller head version with a lower ball flight and less spin designed for pure distance and good ball strikers. Meanwhile, the Sim2 max is a slightly larger head with perimeter weighting to add increased forgiveness and ball flight to be the most accurate.

Taylormade has always produced extremely low spinning and high ball speed drivers, as they usually outperform the market in relation to the other competitors distance numbers. The SIM and SIM2 were revolutionary clubs, as they stretched the weighting system to its limits with their 16g steel weight in the very back to encourage maximum forgiveness and their TPS Front Weight to encourage minimal spin. The Forged Ring Construction (the blue lightweight and high strength aluminum cage), the Injected Twist Face (designed to minimize the slice or hook of off center hits), the SIM Inertia Generator (the part sticking out of the bottom designed for lower center of gravity), and the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket (a more flexible sole designed for increased ball speed and higher forgiveness on low face hits) all add up to one of the most dangerously fast and accurate drivers on the market!

Lightweight aluminum construction allows for the club's center of gravity to be low and deep in the clubface, meaning that the clubs inherent characteristics are such that it produces a high launch and low spin. Speed Injected Twist Face is TaylorMade's technology that maximizes performance across the face, and preventing loss of ball speed for off center shots; this is supplemented by the speed pocket which is a TPU insert right behind the face which flexes and springs at impact allowing for more consistent ball speeds anywhere the ball is hit on the face.

The aesthetics of the SIM2 are unmistakably classic TaylorMade; the carbon look that is accented by white and blue produce a super clean look that is, in my opinion, the best looking driver on the market today. The SIM2 definitely has the biggest 'show-off' potential with how good it looks in the bag and at address.

More tungsten weighting placed low and deep in the driver head gives you higher launch and more forgiveness. The TPS front weight is strategically located on the sole to give you optimal launch and spin. Aero-shaped head and lightweight sole gives you faster swing speeds. Keeps the speed foam injection from the Sim, but the port is on the toe of the club, and not the face.

The sound of impact from the Sim2 is a nice, lower pitched sound. Almost matted. You will love hitting it for the added distance but also the sound of a middled drive. You won't feel like you hit the ball with this club.

If you want distance with confidence, this is the club for you TaylorMade is known for their impressive technology within clubs and this driver is arguably one of the most advanced on the market.
