The Curated Take
I have used Vokey wedges for many years now; first the SM4's, then the SM6's, now the SM8's. The weight of the Vokey's allows me to feel I have better awareness of where the club face is at any point in my swing, but if you prefer a heavier feeling wedge, you may want to check out other options such as the TaylorMade MG3 or the Callaway Jaws. As for me, I think this is the best wedge on the market. I am around a 4 handicap golfer and I think that I am in the sweet spot of who this club is best suited for. For the low to mid handicap golfer, this club will provide you with an incredibly soft forged feel, it will allow you to really spin the ball around the greens and control your spin and flight into the greens on full shots. The amount of grind options that Titleist offers in the SM8's really makes it easy to put together a set of wedges that provide versatility and consistency around the greens regardless of bounce preferences or type of turf you play on. If all of this goes over your head, then the Vokey SM8's may not be for you. Being that they are a bladed wedges, they will not offer ample forgiveness on mishits, so if you are a mid to high handicapper looking for forgiveness into greens, you might want to check out another option.

The newest wedge by Vokey, the SM8 Tour Chrome Wedge moves the CG (center of gravity) to a totally new location to optimize launch and spin.
These wedges are designed for all players wanting more versatility around the greens.
Key Features:
- Improved Distance and Trajectory Control – The CG has been pushed in front of the face, creating a higher MOI (Moment of Inertia or, in other words, resistance to twisting). This forces the face to be more square at impact.
- Maximum Spin – Vokey’s successful spin-milled grooves continue to offer players maximum spin on all shots.
- Ultimate Versatility – These wedges are offered in different loft/grind/bounce options to provide a player with shot versatility to tackle any lie or turf condition.
