The Tyrolia AM 12 hits the sweet spot when it comes to performance, price and looks. For skiers wanting a reliable, safe and highly functional binding this is an awesome choice that does not break the bank. I have used these skiing on the East Coast and on a few trips out West and have been pleased all around. These bindings click in like a dream, no fussing or forcing to get things properly lined up or locked in, thanks in part to the TRP toe system and AFS anti-friction slider. I definitely feel a good boot/ski connection when I'm in these, and they provide great power transfer at speed and when I'm just cruising. As a (somewhat) aging skier with knees that have seen their fair share of bumps and bruises over the years I like safety features of the AM 12, which provide a reliable and responsive release and decrease pressure and strain on the knees. Aesthetically, these have a sleek and fairly low profile design that I'm a big fan of.
Ideal for
- great all mountain performance for intermediate to advanced skiers
- excellent power transfer compared to bindings at a similar price point
- easy on/off design and reliable release makes the AM 12 user friendly and safe thanks to the TRP system and D-RX heel.

I know nothing about snowboards and my son asked for a board for Christmas. We have been through a lot this year personally and just trying to make the holidays a bit more special for our son. I arrived on Curated's website seeking the best price on ski boots, and more importantly, the chance to chat with a boot-fitter from home. I wanted a second opinion on the options I'd tried on at my local ski shop. I also wanted to get into the nitty gritty details of: my specific fit as double wide, small women's foot; and, the ski boot mechanics as they pertain to how women ski, to the skis I will be driving, to my current ability level, and to the level I intend to progress to. After making clear what I was looking for and sharing my measurements/ skier type with Leo, he put together his recommendations, and then answered every question I had about the items in our chat box with exceptional detail. He even jumped on a phone call to hash out my final choice for my overall set up.
