  • Everything is make-able around the greens.
  • Awesome sound-Beautiful divots.
  • Able to manipulate face depending on shot.
  • Tough to get a consistent feel on full shots
  • If a high-lofted model, be sure to get low-bounce (grind makes it tough out of sand)

These are great, traditional wedges. The grinds are solid and turf interaction is good if you need mid bounce. They have great feel. They are not forged but are made from soft steel. The grooves are solid and they provide great spin. I wish they had some more high and low bounce options but for the mid bouce, mid attack angle player these are great.

  • Great traditional look
  • Great feel
  • Lots of spin
  • Could use more bounce options

I believe this product is great for low to mid-handicap golfers. Similar to its successor(s), the milled grind lineup is amazing for someone looking for control, spin and feel off the face of the wedge. The feel and sound on full shots are best in class compared to others like Titleist and Callaway as the milled grind club offers a superb, soft feel with a muted noise off the face. Overall an excellent club that is hard to beat for the price, especially since it's on sale since the new options have been released.

  • Sleek, aggressive look at address
  • Spins well on short, medium and long range shots
  • Soft, buttery feel on impact regardless of distance
  • Thinner top line which might not appeal to all levels of golfers--more or less aimed for low to mid handicappers
Expert Q&A
Quick, accurate answers from Curated experts to the frequently asked questions
What does SB mean on a wedge?
On all of Taylormade's milled grind wedge collection you may notice the letters SB. These letters could be on your MG1, MG2, or MG3 and have a very simple meaning. The SB stands for "Standard Bounce". Bounce on a wedge is designed to help the club glide through or dig through the turf and the SB version is the most versatile.
