The original concept of a hybrid was to develop a club that will provide more reliability and consistency than long irons - that's exactly what the TaylorMade SIM2 Max rescue does. It maximizes forgiveness, distance and launch creating additional use from a plethora of lies and locations around the golf course. One of the lone drawbacks is the inability to work the golf ball, but if that's your priority in a rescue club then there are better alternatives available. With that said this club is going to elevate the mid to long-range game of the golfer looking for consistency out of their rescue club.
- Forgiveness is amplified compared to the average hybrid.
- Launches incredibly high to promote a soft landing.
- Expect unparalleled distance from a variety of lies.
- Designed to fly high and straight but doesn't allow for the ball to be worked around the golf course in any other ball flights.
The TaylorMade SIM2 Max Hybrid is engineered to deliver golfers on every level a tour-validated, forgiving long iron Skipment with targeted technical attributes, powering reliable launch characteristics. A precisely weighted V Steel sole and a flexible Thru-Slot Speed Pocket design slices through a variety of turf conditions for consistent ball speeds and inspiring ball flights. Key Features: - V Steel Design – Constructed with a depressed heel and toe minimizes the sole area to improve turf interaction while also redistributing weight lower in the hybrid for optimum launch and forgiveness. - C300 Steel Twist Face – Strengthening the face with C300 Steel coupled with Twist Face Technology corrects improper face angles at impact to deliver an explosive and reliably centered ball flight. - Thru-Slot Speed Pocket – A flexible Thru-Slot Speed Pocket built into the sole of the hybrid acts like a spring to preserve ball speeds off lower mishits for higher and more predictable launch.
The Taylormade SIM2 Max is one of the better all around hybrids on the market. The one knock against this hybrid is it does not have an adjustable hosel so you cannot change the face angle or the loft. The face is hot so distance is big and the V shaped sole is great for turf interaction. Has a tendency to want to turn a little left so good for someone who misses right.
