Volkl's lady-specific Yumi (pronounced "Yoo-mee") is an excellent all-mountain ski that will appeal to a large variety of skill levels and styles. It is right at home as an easy-going cruiser on everything from Greens to Blues, but lay it over on its side and the Yumi's lightweight wood core takes you on an energetic & playful journey down the mountain! This ski carves well, with lots of rebound from one turn to the next, and cuts through crud surprisingly well for its weight. There aren't many skis out there that can be equally fun for a beginner and an expert skier, but Volkl has hit that magic mark! Can you say Yum Yum?
Fantastic construction throughout with a 3D sidecut radius that will make getting down into the carving motion feel natural and by shaping the top layer with fiberglass and a underlying 0.3mm Titanal metal power plate this will be the sturdiest ski in this list for it's strength to weight ratio. This one was pretty much made for East coast conditions when you can see a lot of ice at times.
This ski holds up for beginner skiers as well as advanced skiers looking for something a little lighter. Volkl's amazing technology makes this stable, damp, consistent, and fun!!
Groomed runs, going fast, cruising right over ice, and anything you're basically going to encounter on a "frontside" run.
This is a great frontside ski, very forgiving, and solid materials.
