Product details

The Salomon X-alp Explore Ski Boots are lightweight alpine touring boots for technical ski mountaineering objectives. The 3D walk mode provides a 75-degree range of motion fore and aft and 35 degrees laterally (12 degrees in and 23 degrees out). Grilamid and carbon keep weight to a minimum while providing downhill performance, and a 98mm last provides a technical fit. The X-alp Explore Boots are a great option for ski mountaineers and ice climbers looking for an approach ski boot that will still climb well.

Key Features:

  • 3D Walk Mode – The 3D walk mode provides 75 degrees of fore and aft motion and 35 degrees of lateral motion.
  • 98mm Last – The 98mm last provides a more technical fit.
  • Winter Contragrip Sole – Rubber soles have plenty of traction for hiking and navigating rocky terrain..

Liner description
Ultralight Custom Fit 3D Liner | 100% Thermo Foam – Full thermoformable 3D liner with two loops.
14 mm Oversized Pivot – Reduced play for extreme precision and direct power transmission. Because many modern all mountain skis are wider, they require more torque to stay on edge. Oversized Pivot answers the need of wider skis.

A large oversized pivot point on the heel allows for a smooth powerful flex going downhill with an excellent range of motion going uphill at 75 degrees range of motion! 90 flex is great for intermediate to advanced skiers, will allow you a high level of performance but won't be too stiff after a long hike up.
