TaylorMade's P790 UDI Hybrid Irons offer more accomplished players powerful, long irons capable of delivering dependable launch and workable ball flights. A hollow-body construction combined with Speed Pocket™ technology, and an elongated hitting area in an iron shaping produces penetrating ball flights even if struck slightly low on the clubface.
Key Features:
- SpeedFoam Air – A formulation of redistributing mass to optimize the best launch conditions also provides preferred sound and feel at impact.
- Thin-Wall Construction – Built using 8620 Carbon Steel in strategic locations allows for a low center of gravity placement paired with a responsive forged 4140 L-Face that promotes face flexibility to optimize ball speeds.
- Thru-Slot Speed Pocket – This Speed Pocket technology increases face flexibility while preserving ball speeds and launch from low strikes on the face.
- Tungsten Mass – Placing tungsten weight at the toe of the club elongates the hitting zone for maximum stability through impact.

This product is great for high speed players that would prefer to hit an iron than a hybrid or wood. there is simply no other 2 iron available today that is as long and forgiving as this one. It launches like a hybrid, so high-spin players may not be optimizing their ball flight with this club. If you want to join the 2-iron club, I can think of no better entry point.
Ideal for
- Very forgiving of mis-hits around the face
- Very fast ball speed and excellent distance
- High launching
Not ideal for
- Hard to feel mis-hits at times
- Distance control and dispersion front-to-back can be a wide
- Not as workable as a more bladed long iron
