This jacket is great, in that it just works, and it is extremely versatile. I wear it on neighborhood walks with my wife (low intensity workout) in spring and fall with only a base layer underneath. In winter, the same jacket with a light down puffer jacket under it keeps me toasty warm under the coldest, windiest New England mountaintop conditions. Likewise on damp days the hood, pockets, zippers, and fabric are good at keeping water on the outside, with easy-to-use pit-zips to ventilate when it's steamy. I've yet to have a zipper jam, or a single stitch pull out. I'm 5'10" tall and pretty average build, and was deciding between a Medium and a Large. I'm so glad I went with Medium! Even with a couple bulky layers the Medium fits me. I would estimate a Medium would fit anyone under about 6' tall and probably up to 200lbs.
- Wear it over fleece or down or even just a base layer depending on the temperature outside.
- Comfortable jacket with a great hood and jam-proof zippers that seem to be bomb-proof durable but without costing an arm and a leg.
- Great pockets have great placement and plenty of space for whatever gear whatever needs to be brought along.
- Not insulated, so don't expect to wear without layers when going out in very cold winter conditions.
- Sizing is maybe SLIGHTLY oversized
