Review by Curated Expert Joe Mallock
The 2020 Callaway Mavrik Pro 3 Hybrid (20 degree) is the perfect club to bridge the gap between the 3 wood and the 4 iron. For long shots from 230+ yards, this club is perfect from the fairway or the rough, and it actually gives me a chance of getting it to the green and sticking it. On windy days, I’m able to use this club to keep the ball flight low, which maximizes distance and keeps my shot in line with the target. This club is geared towards good ball strikers and players with a single-digit handicap.

What is the difference between the Callaway MAVRIK hybrids?
The Callaway Mavrik hybrid is available in 3 models. The Mavrik Pro, the Mavrik and the Mavrik Max. The Mavrik Pro is the smallest and has a neutral ball flight and very little offset. The Mavrik is the middle of the road option that has a little more offset and is very easy to square the face. The Mavrik Max is more draw biased and easier not to miss with a slice or push. All of the Mavrik models are great hybrids its important to find the right one for what you are looking for. The lower handicap player that wants a smaller head and neutral flight will be best off with the Mavrik Pro. The Mavrik is the middle of the road very forgiving model with a neutral to slight draw bias while the Mavrik Max is larger and has more of a draw bias.

A great hybrid for the mid handicap player seeking an alternative to hitting the long irons and would benefit from slight draw bias pre-set in the club to minimize slice-spin. Callaway's technical achievements all in a hybrid:

  • Artificial Intelligence generated individual faces.
  • Jailbreak Tech.
  • Facecup Tech.
  • Flash Face SS20 Tech.

Meld into a low center of gravity, iron-like profile body, producing high MOI, COR, and terrific stability. The mid-sized option of the 3 Mavrik models, the Mavrik is available in lofts from 18 to 26 degrees or 3,4,5 and 6 hybrids and graphite shaft options in the Project X Catalyst shaft at 55/65/and 75 grams can be custom ordered to fit many golfer's needs.

Players looking for a hybrid that can perform on every area of the course. fitted with a regular shaft and Jailbreak technology just like the other Callaway metal woods. Expect piercing ball flight and forgiveness on missed shots.
