Official manufacturer description

The Ripstick 94 W is perfect for any adventure; front side, back side, chutes, steeps, trees and even the backcountry. You can trust this ski is the right choice, no matter the conditions.

Ripstick 94 W packs a ton of punch in a considerably lightweight package. It is the ultimate freeride set up for the softest, deepest conditions to the most variable, mixed terrain found on the mountain. Sitting pretty at a versatile 94mm waist, it’s wide enough to handle powder, yet narrow enough to lay trenches on the groomers. Upgraded with Elan’s most advanced asymmetrical technology, Amphibio Carbon Line, carbon rods are inserted into the extremely lightweight wood core for an exceptionally damp and stable platform that is amplified with strategically placed carbon reinforcements over the edges of the skis to power every turn with precision and perfection. Get ready for silky smooth performance across the entire mountain.

Is Elan Ripstick a good ski?
Giro is a US-based company that got its start making helmets for snow-sports and for cycling, and have been making high-quality ski googles since 2004. Giro goggles use Zeiss lenses in a range of tints and VLTs (visible light transmission percentage) and fit with a wide range of helmets, but integrate exceptionally well with Giro helmets. In short, they are definitely worth considering, especially if you already own a Giro helmet.

Great all mountain ski; good in all the terrain font and backside. Good camber for hold on the stiffer snow, metal and wood in the core for durability, damp and good pop in the turns. One of the best reviewed skis, the Ripstick is a very reliable ski with a consistent flex pattern. It's damp and can cut through the crud and frozen chicken heads. The women's specific design on the Elan line was designed in concert with some great women to deliver a product that is excellent. Not a *modified* male or unisex ski; this is designed by women for women.

A high praise ski no matter what coast you are on. These skis have an interesting shape and can really perform well. They are very lightweight and can perform well all over the mountain and through really any and all conditions. The are unique with their rocker design and there is a left and a right ski. But, that unique design is just not for marketing, the ease of turning is the result of Elan's unique rocker/camber design. Great feedback and rebound on these skis. Really great ski if you want something versatile with no performance limits!

Elan makes incredible skis, and these are no exception. 94 underfoot gives you enough width to handle new snow and variable conditions, but their unique right and left designed ski offer superior stability while carving as they are designed specifically for both the inside and outside edge. Their amphibio concept allows for an ultra light weight ski while still being stable, and up for the task of conquering whatever the mountain throws at you that day.

The Elan ripstick is one of the most unique ski lines on the market because they are made to have a left and right ski. Basically they are shaped to maximize the turn on each foot, and keep the inside leg in a comfortable position. Simply put, these will be one of the most fun and most comfortable skis you'll ever use on a groomer. Off groomer, they are really light and maneuverable, and easy to get through tight spaces or moguls.

Honestly, it can be skied all over the mountain. These really excel in soft snow and blasting through crud. Great long term and one ski quiver for where you ski! If you plan on spending most of your time poppin around the soft bumps, taking some quick turns through trees, and then laying down some carves on the groomers these will be perfect.
