The Orvis Encounter wading boot is a good wading boot for beginning anglers. The lightweight felt sole provides traction for wading in different stream bed conditions. The padded collar and the EVA sole provide comfort. The toe and heel caps provide extra protection against underwater wading hazards.

Rubber soles are too slippery
Originally posted at www.orvis.com on Dec 20, 2024Rubber soles are slippery wading in rivers with rocks. Have fallen down in rivers several times. Will never wear these boots again and will only wear boots with felt soles.
