Expert Q&A
Quick, accurate answers from Curated experts to the frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Berkley PowerBait and Berkley Gulp?
Berkley Powerbait is made with oil based resins. The more oil based resin added to the PVC, the softer the bait will be. Gulp is made using water based resins, thus the major difference in the two baits. This allows for much more scent distribution than with oil based resins.

How do you rig a Berkley PowerBait minnow?
To rig a Berkley PowerBait minnow simply take your jig or hook and start in the center of the soft bait and thread the soft plastic over the hook. Once the point of the hook is at the end off the belly, pass the point through the bait and then firmly seat the plastic against the jig head. It can be rigged with the belly riding up or down depending on your preference. Both ways are effective.

This is a great imitation minnow perfect working an area slowly. The vertical tail adds realistic action. Can be swam like a the paddle tail, used as a jerk bait, or on a finesse Lindy minnow rig.
