Ideal for
- Excellent taper for targeting trout, specifically with dries and nymphs.
- It uses Scientific Anglers' AST+ dry-slick additive which is built in throughout the line. This improves shooting ability resulting in longer casts with less effort.
- The taper is great and allows for nice presentations even when longer leader and tippet are used.
Not ideal for
- The line float well, but for even more floatability consider Scientific Anglers' textured lines.
- This line is not a good choice if fishing large streamers.

The Scientific Anglers Amplitude smooth trout fly line is an easy-casting and extremely durable fly line. This line is perfect for all-around trout applications. It casts dry flies like a dream, indicator rigs, and dry dropper. It is oversized, so this line can overload some slower action fly rods.
