This should be a staple for every angler! These are two tools that you will use on every trip, regardless of the conditions or location. The forceps (nippers) are great for removing the fly from a stubborn fish, as well as crimping down the barb on barbed hooks. Most western fly rivers require your hook to be "barbless" and a good way to satisfy that requirement is crimping down the barb on your hooks with this tool. The clipper tool is key when you tie on a new fly. The clipper will trim away excess fly line (which will scare fish), as well as ensure your fly is clean from old line and ready to fish.
