The Curated Take

The Taylormade Stealth Driver is the first of its kind in the 2020s. The driver is carbon-faced and very durable. The driver is very forgiving and hits far. Overall, this driver is great for the new or mid to high handicap player wanting to maximize distance and consistency. The carbon face is different from the standard titanium that most drivers are made of. However, the sound is no different and feel is very soft. Overall, great driver for most golfers.

Product details

The TaylorMade Stealth Driver is built for a variety of mid- to higher-handicap golfers seeking a powerful combination of forgiveness and stability along with aerodynamic shaping to generate enhanced clubhead speed through impact. An adjustable hosel to manipulate loft and face angle delivers golfers a versatile driver they can adjust to fit their trajectory needs.

Key Features:

  • 60X Carbon Twist Face – Using 60 layers of lightweight carbon material in the face enables the production of a large hitting area to produce maximized ball speeds and optimal forgiveness.
  • Nanotextured Cover – Gripping and ripping golf balls to their target, a nanotextured, polyurethane cover on the clubface directs fine-tuned launch and spin control.
  • Asymmetric Inertia Generator – Creating slippery-fast clubhead speeds just prior to impact, refined aerodynamic shaping aids in swing speed generation to ensure massive ball speeds.
  • High MOI Design – Saved weight from the carbon face is repositioned for added stability and MOI (moment of inertia) for reliable forgiveness from impacts on an expansive area of the clubface.
  • Thru-Slot Speed Pocket – Ensuring low mishits maintain needed launch trajectories for deep carry distance, a thru-slot speed pocket is designed into the sole of the driver.

The Taylormade Stealth driver is an amazing driver that is good for all players. The Stealth driver is very forgiving and guaranteed to increase a player's drives by many yards. This driver can be used by any skill level player, but best fits players that have over a 10 handicap. For the better players, the Stealth Plus Driver would be the better option.

Pros
  • Increasing distances
  • Very forgiving
  • Carbon face makes the driver very durable.
Cons
  • Not super workable
  • Not the same feel as a traditional titanium driver

The Stealth has a revolutionary carbon face which is at the forefront of new technology. It does an amazing job retaining ball speed on mishits and it keeps the spin low. The sound and feel are spot on. I love the shape of the head too Taylormade is the only company that really gets that pear shape right. This is the best Stealth driver for most players as it has no bias and it has the right amount of spin for most people. The only downside is the lack of an adjustable weight.

Pros
  • Revolutionary carbon face
  • Super long
  • Very forgiving
Cons
  • No adjustable weight

All of the Taylormade Stealth drivers are very forgiving. The most forgiving model depends on your ball flight. If your miss is a fade or push the Stealth HD is the most forgiving. For someone who hits a draw or pull the Stealth will be the most forgiving. The Stealth + is the least forgiving.

Is the TaylorMade stealth good for beginners?
The Taylormade Stealth driver, this driver is full of technology to ensure a high handicap or beginner golfer will benefit from using it. Starting with the technology, Twist face technology in the new Carbon face of the driver. This Twist Face technology helps with the performance of off-centered strikes. Normally, strikes off the toe would start left (right-handed golfer) and continue to hook left. With the Twist Face, the toe is now more open so it will start more right, and continue on a straighter path than a hard hook. This goes for heel strikes as well. Strikes off the heel would start right and go farther right as well (right-handed golfer). With Twist Face, the heel strike will start left as it is closed and will stay on a straighter path. These factors are necessary for a beginner as high handicap/new golfers will be inconsistent with ball striking.
