Astro™ brings lightweight comfort, durability, and much-appreciated slumber to any overnight adventure. This updated model features a full suite of more sustainable materials, with a 100% bluesign® approved, 75D recycled polyester fabric shell and 100% post-consumer recycled Primaloft® insulation.
Astro maintains its legacy lateral baffles, which are more comfortable and prevent the pad from curling under the body. The Pillow Baffle™ at the head end bolsters your camp pillow and helps it not slide off in the middle of the night. Our super-efficient Vortex™ pump sack works seamlessly with our Laylow™ zero-profile, micro-adjustable valve for easy inflation and personalized comfort, and helps keep moisture out of your pad. Great pad
Originally posted at www.nemoequipment.com on Nov 17, 2023Very pleased with this pad. I've had both hips replaced and I'm a side sleeper - no issues or pain as opposed to my older Thermarest. Recently returned from a 3 day - 2 hike in the Black Mountains of NC and temps the first night were in the low 20's. I was concerned about the R-value in those temps, but we prepped the ground under the tent with pine needles, and if didn't experience cold transfer issues from the ground. There are two reasons I didn't rate the Astro with 5-stars. 1. When removing the Vortex pump sack, it was sketchy to not pull the value all the way out causing rapid deflation. 2. The tri-fold roll-up design was difficult to line up properly on a consistent basis. Both of these things are small issues in my opinion, but worthy to drop one star rating.
