With a little help from my friends
Originally posted at www.orvis.com on Nov 13, 2024I conferred with a couple of experienced fly fishermen as I do not fly fish. They did countless hours of research and asked others too. The consensus was the 8 1/2' rod and reel package. Upon recieveing the rod and reel we enrolled our grandson into a 5 hour class in Lake Isabella. The instructor agreed the pole length and reel were a great start in the world of fly fishing. My grandson has great patience for being 12 years old and enjoys practicing as much as fishing. I"m sure he will continue to enjoy the Encounter Fly Rod Outfit for years to come.
