This is a great rod outfit for someone wanting to try the sport out and see if they are going to like it before investing in a better rod. This is not a rod that is going to last you more than a couple years unless you fish very few times a year. It's a great rod for someone that doesn't want to break the bank before deciding if they want to commit to a nicer rod set up. It's very budget friendly since it comes with the rod, reel and line all spooled up and included in the package. It has a limited 5 year warranty which is a nice bonus for an intro rod set up as most don't offer that.

Rylyn found a sale for the Douglas Sky G rod and recommended it. He said that this was the best rod in the market and so I bought it. We paired it with monic Trout Master fly line. I was not disappointed at all! The rod feels intuitive and natural to cast. I could cast more accurately and a longer distance than I ever did with my previous rod.
