Is Coleman a good brand for tent?
Coleman is a long standing outdoor gear and clothing company. These tents are ideal for first-time campers because they do not come at very expensive prices.Answered by:

Camping ExpertWhat is a good tent weight for backpacking?
Tents come in a large variety of uses from car camping to mountaineering to backpacking, and you might be wondering if your tent is suitable to be carried on your back. Typically, any tent weighing 4lbs or less is suitable for backpacking. The lower end tents will weigh around 4lbs while ultralight tents made from state of the art Dyneema Composite Fabric can weigh as little as 15oz. With these ultralight tents y ou will usually lose a few features like a free standing design and a double wall structure (with a mesh interior), but the shedded weight will take a significant amount of physical stress off of your body, especially if you are hiking a lot of miles. Anywhere from 15oz to 4lbs is an acceptable weight for a backpacking tent.Answered by:

Came to the site again (with previous good experience from other departments) in need of a tent and footprint-- Elizabeth was great with recommendations and offering more options that stayed within the budget but weren't on the radar to begin with. That and helping with other recommendations generally for hiking/camping, she is greatly appreciated!

I’m taking a couple month backpacking trip and needed all new gear that I am unfamiliar with. Scott was able to help me find everything I needed; if something did not fit my budget or was not quite right for me, he suggested different items to help me find the perfect gear. He responds quickly and always checked in to maintain communication. He’s easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I’ll definitely be asking Scott for help again. Great all around experience.
