However, since it shares similar geometry with most gravel bikes, a simple tire change to wider, knobbier rubber can a gravel bike make of the Synapse. What you won't see, however, are 1x drivetrains like those which have risen to prominence among the gravel crowd seeking an almost mountain bike-like experience. All Synapse models are spec'd with a 2x chainring up front, so for some, the distinction is made there. However, the dna is present should you wish to tap into it. Synapse can make an ideal gravel bike with relatively few modifications and many riders will appreciate the added gearing range offered by the 2x drivetrain it possesses.
