The Blaze 106 is a lightweight, all-wood touring ski that keeps true to Volkl's top-notch carving performance while really excelling in the light snow and on ascents. The Rocker/Camber profile is paired up with tons of other Volkl tech to create a ski that's easy to turn and floats like a gem, but doesn't shy away from wet/heavy snow or bad conditions any more than it loves the steep and deeps! Here in Southeast Alaska, we ski sea-level to summit, so our conditions vary a ton and we require equipment that can keep up with the best and deepest dumps, as well as the rain. The Blaze became my daily driver 3-years ago for just that, and never has disappointed. While the skis will keep you from railing down groomers at 100mph, they'll get to top speed and stay stable there even on icy slopes; and for everything else, you won't think twice about taking the Blazes out.

This is a fantastic one ski quiver if you are looking for something that can do it all! I have taken these skis all over the mountains out in Utah and in the hills of the MidWest. If you want one ski that can handle all terrains well, then this is the one for you!
Ideal for
- All Mountain Riding - Super Versatile, they can be taken anywhere on the mountain
- Crud - Late in the day on groomers they start to shine, they carve through crud like nothing
- Powder, can definitely ride the pow when it's there
Not ideal for
- Not the best in Ice - The rocker prevents the ski from really digging in
- Carving on Groomers is a challenge, tough to put energy into the ski

I very much enjoyed working with Leo on my ski purchase. I had done some research on my own but had not settled on a particular ski. Frankie is A1, top notch and his ratings and reviews speaks for itself. I went to 3 different ski shops in my area and I was sized wrong, told certain brands were high quality when they weren’t, would have been paying to much and just put on a bad path overall. I was very nervous about buying my first pair of skis as they can be quite expensive and you want to get them right, however, as soon as I found curated and was paired with Hayden all the nervousness turned into pure excitement.
