The POC Omne Air SPIN helmet is a Swedish-designed helmet for serious road riding. It's lightweight, aerodynamic, well-ventilated, and has POC's SPIN system to safeguard the brain in a crash situation. It is well-suited for performance-oriented riders who like to ride fast and long and are highly demanding of their equipment.
- Excellent integration with glasses storage on hot rides
- SPIN system protects the brain in a crash
- Aerodynamic design saves watts
- The SPIN system is different than the MIPS system but still works well.
Whether on the morning commute or a long weekend club ride, the Omne Air SPIN pushes you to go further. Optimal liner density and thicker core protection zones provide ideal all-round, multipurpose protection, while ventilation channels and a low weight inspired by our award-winning road cycling helmets Octal and Ventral deliver optimum comfort and functionality on longer rides.
By taking our whole-helmet approach to the creation of the Omne Air SPIN, the helmet delivers superior levels of comfort, fit and performance, and features a host of safety systems. The helmet also features SPIN (Shearing Pad INside), our patent-pending silicone pad technology.
This is a great helmet for road bikers. I have been using this helmet for 6 months now and love it. The adjustability of it for when I want to wear a cycling cap or not is a breeze. I just spin the dial and it changes size quickly. I have found the sunglasses shelf to be a bit on the hard side to use, but when I do get my glasses in they don't move at all. This is a great helmet and I would recommend it to anyone!
- Road biking
- Great Ventilation
- Great adjustability
- Sunglass Shelf hard to use
This is one of my favorite road bike helmets to look at, but I have to say, there's much better road bike helmets out there for less money. For one, I just know that SPIN is better than nothing, but MIPS is better than spin. I tested this helmet and was comfortable, but I know that I trust MIPS more than SPIN.
It's a really lightweight and compact design but it also has a few areas where the foam is very exposed leaving it vulnerable to bumps and small drops. I would not want to use this helmet for commuting, for example.
Overall, I loved it but thought the price point was a little much, especially for the Rapha models..
- Beautiful styling and compact look.
- Great ventilation.
- SPIN shear pad reduces rotational trauma.
- Has areas of exposed foam that is prone to scuffs and bumps that can quickly add up.
