The Curated Take

The Ride Shadowban is going to be a one-board quiver for any intermediate to advanced rider that needs a board that can hold its own anywhere on resort. From bombing groomers to cutting up the park, the Shadowban excels at almost everything you throw its way. This directional twin, all-mountain freestyle hoss gives off a super reliable ride thanks to a just-above-medium flex and rock-out camber profile. Carbon stringers and plating allow this board to pop hard and remain durable. Slime wall absorbs vibration at speed allowing you to truly Indy 500 your way down runs without getting bucked around. Anyone who has ridden a Ride board can attest to the slime wall technology, it seriously absorbs everything. The downside to all of this tech is that it won't be easy to manipulate or maneuver it without using a bit of muscle. The edges aren't going to be near Salomon or Gnu on ice, but I still felt locked in. This also won't be the best powder board out there considering it runs fairly narrow in waist width. If you have any experience riding off-piste then it will still hold its own, this just means you will need to use that backfoot and won't be able to surf and carve as much. I recommend this for a hardbody boarder who likes to ride fast, jump high, and play around on the whole resort. Someone who needs a board that truly excels on groomers but can still handle variable conditions.

Ideal for
  • Hard Charging
  • Boosting Side hits
  • Absorbing Chop
Not ideal for
  • Powder riding (takes some backfoot work)
  • Not a jib stick by any means (just takes more effort)
  • Edge hold wasn't the best on ice

The Shadowban is an all-new model that was designed for versatility. The Standard Camber profile and Carbon Array 3™ assures that you’ll have pop when you need it without adding stiffness. A Sintered, Stone Ground base sucks up wax to keep you mobbing all winter. This directional twin is a twin shape with a slightly set back reference stance for maximum versatility. The Shadowban is built to be comfortable anywhere on the mountain from the peak to the park. If you’ve been searching for one board to do everything with no compromises, your search is over.

This board is built for really anyone looking for a board that will be a one quiver killer. The one board you can use to do it all. Park laps, side hits, powder, groomers, trees, back country. This boards ability to really do it all starts with its directional twin shape, camber dominant hybrid profile with rocker in the tips,... Read more
Ideal for
  • Best for all mountain riding, float in powder due to rocker in the tip and tail of the board.
  • Mid flex hybrid camber. Power under the feet with catch free edges in the nose and tail due to the rocker.
  • Best for someone looking for a do it all board, directional twin, option for set back stance, and added carbon for snap.
Not ideal for
  • Hybrid profile so wont perform the same as a pure rocker or camber.
  • Directional twin so it wont feel exactly like a true twin. The nose is slightly larger then the tail
  • Little more weight then expected.

Great ride but also agree the topsheet can get dinged easily.

Been riding this board all 2023/24 season as my daily driver. Probably got in around 12-15 days on it. It is a pleasure to ride, I'm more of a intermediate carver but don't do a lot of freestyle/park riding. It is responsive, fun, holds its edges, and had improved my riding and overall experience. I did however notice the black top sheet with white underlayer is easy to damage and has some noticeable edge wear. I'm not sure if companies offer touch up paint or anything like that but I actually repainted part of the nose where I had a major scratch with flat black Estes brand model paint and it matched and blended in fairly well. I used a foam brush with 2 coats and I went over it lightly with 000 steel wool after to kind of blend where I painted with the factory finish. I love the board but my concern will be its ongoing durability, especially where the top sheet meets the side walls.

Shadowban

This board is the liveliest board Ive ever ridden, and lives up to the hype. Very quick edge to edge, extremely poppy, holds the edge well, and still very forgiving yet very playful. Very seldomly, do you hop on a board and instantly feel like your riding improves, but this is exactly how I felt on the Shadowban. Extremely satisfied with my third Ride board, even better than the Wildlife and the Yukon I had back in the day. Im 6’4” and 235, riding for 25 years in California, Utah and Colorado and am now rolling a Shadowban 164W mountainwide.

I casually inquired about skis with Nate after getting tired of my rentals. Within 10 minutes, he had found me a pair with bindings that would beat the cost of renting in less than 2 years. Nate had all the answers to my questions about "Why this ski and not that ski?" and made me feel super confident in my purchase.

I've been wanting to buy ski gear for a while now, but honestly didn't have the time or mental capacity to do all the research it takes to really know what gear to buy. My upcoming move to Colorado really made get serious about buying. It was extra convenient that Sara lives in Colorado and is familiar with the conditions I'll be skiing in and what gear will be best. She listened to the questions and concerns I had about gear and measurements and made me feel confident in my purchase! Thanks a ton!
