I just got my K2 Recon 100 MV Ski Boots and I'm thinking they are a bit too small. My right foot is completely asleep after wearing them for about 20 minutes. Will they break in over time and get looser?

Adding arch support to the boot pulls the toes of the front, ankles and boney joints off the side, calves out of the cuff and solves 99% of pain and fit issues most people experience in ski boots. Also, if you're just sitting down in ski boots in a relaxed position for an extended period of time, feet can go tingly.

Can you recommend some ski boots for an intermediate skier with a budget of $500?

I just shot over the K2 Rekon 100's and the Head Edge 100's, both great boots! You can't go wrong with either pair! Both have very very thick and warm liners that can be heated up and molded to your foot for a perfect fit. It's a game changer!

What's the difference in flex between the Rossignol Alltrack Pro 110 LT GW Ski Boots and the Lange XT3 140 Pro Model Ski Boots?

Flex is a little dubious in the sense that it's not well regulated across the industry. And when we're talking about flex in hybrid boots like these, they are softer than the number would imply. You're tall, you're athletic, so even though you're maybe not an expert skier yet, you're on your way. I think the difference between the 110 Rossignol and the 120 Lange is fairly minimal. Flex is subjective. If you've only ever skied rental boots, you've only skied in an 80 max. So my thought is, for the most part, I almost never recommend someone to get into a 130 unless they tell me they want something that stiff. Even pros are cautious of going with that high of flex because frankly it is a bit unnecessary! It makes you have to be on the gas pedal all the time.
