I got to demo this ski at a demo day at Crystal Mountain, Washington. Out of all the skis I tried that day this one stood out the most. It was immediately intuitive to ski no matter what the terrain or speed was. The blade optics playfulness is what first stood out. It was very energetic and poppy. I found myself seeking out the side hits, popping out of turns, and jumping moguls. Usually when a ski is this playful it means it is fairly light and soft but the Blade Optic 96 does come with metal in its construction that translates to a very smooth and damp ride when riding fast through cruddy snow. It did not carve as well as other skis I tried (Volkl Mantra and Kendo take the cake there) but this ski was definitely way more fun and energetic. At 96 waist I think it is the perfect one ski quiver almost anywhere in the country. Higher snow areas might opt for the Blade Optic 104. They do have a blade optic 92 but I would still choose the 96 since it has the metal. I am confident skiers of any skill level will have a blast on the Line Blade Optic 96.
