Originally posted at lineskis.com on Feb 10, 2025Impulse bought these skis for an impulse trip to Japan to replace my 15 year old Hellbents. Needless to say they are freaking AMAZING. Floated like a cloud in the deepest non stop powder. Super light and amazing for travel, and majorly outperformed the old hellbents on cat tracks etc. bonus: made tons of friends in the lift lines with people asking about and wanting to talk about the Pescados.

Originally posted at lineskis.com on Mar 28, 2024My daily driver is 181 Line Sakana which I absolutely love, so when I was looking for a resort powder ski, I had no reservations on the Pescado. As background, lifelong skier, 5’11 and 170 and I ski mostly at Vail.
Despite the Sakana descendant from the Pescado, the two are very different skis, not that that is a bad thing. Obviously wider, the Pescado is also noticeably lighter, so much so I wouldn’t hesitate to use this uphill. It is a lively core, very poppy which makes it not the best for tracked up chunder. That said, it carves much better than you would ever expect a 125 waisted ski to do, so you won’t hate your time on the way back to the lift for your next stash. But what you get it for is powder, and it is exceptional in this regard, repeat exceptional. Line claims it is “The Best Powder Ski On Earth,” I would say that about covers it. Extremely maneuverable, endless float, it is as advertised. I also found that hitting the steeps in fresh snow, the light swing weight make it preferable over my Sakanas. I am extremely appreciative of Line and their out of the box thinking, keep it up!

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked.
