This alpha predator rules the slopes!
Posted on Aug 26, 2023I have been a fan of mervin mfg for decades. I slid a t. Rice for years before I rode upon the back of the mighty orca. While I have enjoyed the firm and hard-charging t. Rice 161, I never felt that I could set the bindings back far enough for powder days (and it sometimes felt too stiff for butters.)
This 156 orca solves both of these issues, along with the added bonus of being quick and slippery. It is a little more flexible and playful than what I have been accustomed to, making for a salty, splashy side-sliding implement. The back-set stance keeps my legs feeling fresh on the deepest days, and the bold nose slices through the chunder and keeps from any unintended diving.
I was not sure before I took the plunge, but it is truly one of the best pre-season choices I have made. I love my Lib Tech Orca!

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked.
