Who would love these

These bindings are perfect for advanced to expert skiers who crave high performance and reliability. If you're someone who loves tackling challenging terrains and needs a binding that can keep up, the Jester 16 ID is for you. They're also great for those who appreciate a quick and comfortable step-in experience, compatible with various boot types. If you're sending it off cliffs or skiing aggressively, these bindings will have your back.

Why I recommend these

Durable and reliable
Lightweight magnesium parts
Anti-Ice Rail feature

Expert verdict

The Marker Jester 16 ID Ski Bindings are a fantastic choice for those who love pushing their limits on the slopes. What really sets them apart is their balance of durability and performance. With a mostly metal construction and a DIN range up to 16, these bindings are built to handle aggressive skiing and big mountain adventures. The addition of magnesium parts makes them lighter and stiffer, enhancing power transmission. Plus, the Anti-Ice Rail is a nifty feature for keeping your boots ice-free. While they might be overkill for beginners, advanced skiers will appreciate their reliability and versatility across different boot types.

The Marker Jester 16 ID bindings were newly redesigned to fit perfectly in the Marker Royal Family collection for the 2023 season. It sits midway between the Marker Griffon 13 and the Marker Jester 18. If the Griffon 13 is too little, and the Jester 18 seems like overkill, the extraordinary feel and look of the Jester 16 will be a good fit. Weight has been minimized, but not at the expense of that Jester bombproof feel. It is a viable big mountain and "sendy" binding option for more aggressive skiers.

Key Features:

  • Anti-Ice Rail on Toe – The bottom of the boot can be scraped on the toe piece to knock off ice before clicking in.
  • Sole ID Plate – The height-adjustable gliding plate is compatible with alpine, touring, and GripWalk boot soles.
  • Inner Pivot Freeride Heel – This is the third and newest generation of Marker Heel Pieces, built to improve power transmission, step-in comfort, and energy absorption when skiing.

I have personally used the Marker Jester 16 bindings for the last 5 years on my resort skis. I ski very hard and have a 10 DIN. Even though I am not at the high end of the binding (16 DIN), I find that having the high quality build of a higher DIN binding gives me confidence in the release... Read more
Ideal for
  • These bindings have a mostly metal construction which makes them very durable.
  • With a DIN range up to 16, these things are ready to send big cliffs and handle whatever is thrown at them
  • Solid releases. I have had multiple gnarly double ejection falls and they released as they should.
Not ideal for
  • Some components are not the absolute highest end- look to the Jester 18 Pro for peak performance.
  • Heavy binding. Not designed for alpine touring.

The Marker Jester 16 ID is a great binding for Advanced and Expert level skiers and/or skiers over 175lbs. The Jester is built to be tough, handle anything that's thrown at it, and to release reliably when it needs to. More importantly, it won't release when it isn't supposed to. I've been skiing Marker's Jester 16 ID for over 10 years... Read more
Ideal for
  • Boot Compatibility: This binding fits just about any boot
  • Durability: This binding has more metal components than many other bindings
  • Super Reliable Release: This binding has released every time I've needed to, and never released when it shouldn't have
Not ideal for
  • Heavy: Nothing crazy, but lighter options are out there

I have a pair of these mounted on my groomer skis, Volkl Kendos, so I mainly ski these bindings on trail. Off trail I tend to opt for Look Pivots since I really value the rotating heel and ability to side release. That being said, if you are looking for a secure and stable binding, this is a great option.... Read more
Ideal for
  • Very secure feeling binding
  • Use of metal makes the binding feel very durable (especially compared to Griffons)
  • Great power transfer to ski
Not ideal for
  • Heel makes it a bit hard to click out

Erik was great!
5 /5
Erik was very helpful in assisting me to pick out my first pair of skis and ski bindings! I am an intermediate-level skier but have always used rental skis, so when looking to buy my own, I didn't have much of a knowledge-base. Erik was very helpful in answering my questions and with narrowing down which skis would be a good fit for me, taking into consideration my height/weight, skill level, skiing strengths and weaknesses, and price range. Thank you very much, Erik!

This was my first time buying snow sport gear of any kind. Tyler used the information I gave him to give me some really great choices and get me all set up with a board, bindings, and a helmet. He was very responsive to my questions and had recommendations for sizes and settings that I would not have been able to figure out on my own. He was great!

Brandon was awesome! He helped me choose the perfect snowboard gear, a Burton Cartographer with boots and bindings. He made sure everything fit perfectly and even scored me a great deal. Super pumped with my setup, the setup worked perfect for Midwest and East coast riding! Thanks, Brandon!

Tyler was super helpful!

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked. I had so many questions and came very close to purchasing skis a few months ago but now I that I have nearly finished this season I have a better idea of what I was looking for!

Nico helped me decide what length Atomic Mavens to get and bindings. He helped me decide that these skis will work on East Coast ice and Jackson Hole powder. I wish Curated was sticking around because it's such a great service. My cousin bought skis bindings and boots last year with curated and is stoked.

Tyler helped to reassure me on the board I have been eying, while also suggesting the best options for boots and bindings; he never tried to push the most expensive option, but rather gave me a number of choices to consider for myself (and in fact, recommended a cheaper boot option than the one I went with!). He was a great help and I feel confident that he helped me make a solid purchase.

I was looking at updating my board and was just looking around. After a quick chat with John to narrow down which board to pick, he made it easier than going into a store. He helped out with an additional discount that no other website could beat. Too hard to pass up a great deal, I bought the board and bindings. Cheers to debuting it before the season ends!

She knew exactly what I was looking for...
5 /5
I already knew what skis I was trying to find, based on the conditions I wanted to ski and also based on my skill level. Not only did she recommend the exact skis that I had been looking for, but she also recommended a better set of bindings than the ones I had previously thought were a good fit. I love that she's a neighbor over in VT while I'm in NH, so she knows East Coast (Ice Coast) skiing like I do. I'm so excited for the deal I just landed on brand new 2025 skis, and I have Shannon to thank for helping me narrow down the perfect fit. I'm just so sad to hear this amazing company is closing its doors, but while the deals are good and before they go, I will be recommending them to everyone I know! Thanks again, Shannon! Happy skiing!

Noah helped me tremendously. I kind of knew what I wanted but by asking the right questions, he helped point me in the best direction for my changing skill level and age and kind of terrain I'd be skiing more since moving to a different state. He took everything into account. He gave me choices for each item I wanted---skis, bindings, poles---and put together a perfect curation! I'm super stoked to be able to take advantage of the discounts of course, but I never would've been able to do that or even find such great equipment without Noah's help!
