As a washed up park rat, I personally find many modern all mountain skis to be lacking in versatility, and not able to hold up to abuse as well as many skis I grew up with. The Nomad 105 fills an almost quiver killing spot in my heart, due to its absolute versatility and durability. There are many skis out... Read more
Ideal for
- Ripping all over the mountain, forward or switch. More traditional rocker lines and sidecut make it feel like a big park ski.
- Best in class durability, chip resistant top sheet.
- Made in Colorado
Not ideal for
- Stiffness ramps up considerably in longer lengths.
- Better options for powder that fall under the same category.
- Twin tips may not be as stable as flat tailed skis.

The icelantic Nomad 105's are a great daily driver that leans towards the playful side. You'll love every moment on these skis. They are wide enough to tear up powder, skinny enough to carve on the groomers, and light enough to move around in the air. They are incredibly responsive if the snow is soft, which is when they thrive.... Read more
Ideal for
- Powder less than a foot deep
- Playful and jibby lines
- Versatile all mountain skis
Not ideal for
- Icy conditions
- Hardpack snow
- Highspeed steep groomer skiing

The Icelantic Nomad is my go-to all-mountain resort ski. This set handles well, provides good float, can rip on a groomer, and is very durable. They get thrown around my car, packed in with other skis, put in ski racks, and well used on the mountain, and they are still just as good as the day I bought them. I... Read more
Ideal for
- The most durable ski I have.
- A great all mountain resort ski. Good stability on a groomer at high speeds and good float in the trees off-piste
- Turns through the snow like a hot knife through butter
Not ideal for
- Its a bit heavy of a ski so not the lightest for touring
- A bit small for the deep powder days

Not every ski is for everyone, but these are for me!
Originally posted at www.icelanticskis.com on Apr 22, 2023Nomad 105@181
Let's get real here...I rated these 5/5. I'm sure someone else might rate them 3/5 or someone else 4/5
Heres the thing, not every ski is meant for everyone.
I live out west IN the mountains of Colorado and get 60+ days a season. If I lived on other places, these wouldn't be the right ski. If I grew up a ski racer, they might not be the right ski. Or if I really enjoyed a super stiff ski that required a lot of input, these might but be the right ski. If you're looking for a forgiving ski that can still carve (when asked), surf 2 feet of snow, be forgiving if you get in the back seat and be fun all over the mountain, this ski could be for you.
2mm of camber offers just enough profile to feel good on the groomers. But this isn't a groomer day, corduroy laced, blue bird ripper.
The tips and tails are soft. But too soft to be a noodle, but def not stiff. They are pretty solid under foot and I have always felt I can really it's the ski if needed Having a rocker tail makes them really really easy to release in a turn, through a mogul or in the steeps. I never feel like I'm fighting this ski in any turn. They slide through moguls and tight turns well enough I don't think about taking them anywhere.
I can ski 50° lines with confidence. I can then hit a groomer and actually lay them over. They are surfy, slarvy and just a really great ski to have as a daily driver out west.
...the fact that everyone thinks they look great is just a bonus.

Icelantic Skis are the best
Originally posted at www.icelanticskis.com on Feb 27, 2022Started skiing around age 8, and I enjoy steep skiing, charging, carving, and of course - deep powder. I tried the Nomad 105's in a 181 length this year in the Cottonwood Canyons, and I was blown away with how easy the Nomad was to ski. I didn't believe that a ski could increase my ability as it did, and I had a lot more fun too. My only regret, is that I didn't try them 10 years ago.

Jonny is a great help
5 /5
I came to Jonny without knowing too much about what kind of profile and gear I needed to best fit my riding style and progression. After only a few questions Jonny was already locking in the perfect setup for me. I appreciate Jonny’s attentiveness and knowledgeability in helping me find the perfect balance.

Came back 2 times because I wanted to soak up all the knowledge he was giving. I know I was pissing him off w/ all my questions and he kept it cool and walked me thru everything I needed. He got me to purchase a brand new board by trusting his advice and I’m stoked to strap in and shred w/ it. THANK YOU PRESTON.. now it’s time to retire the old Burton 64 floater that I purchased for 85$

Going on a snowboard trip with my wife next month and this is her first snow trip since she was younger. I really wanted her to feel comfortable in her own gear but make sure she got something that fits her level and dims. Ryan was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. Will definitely be coming back next season for a new setup for myself. Thanks Ryan!

Brian took the time to assess my current situation and understand the equipment that I had now. He had great interest in what my desired outcomes and goals were with new equipment and touch base occasionally throughout the past year to ensure the I was aware of updates and product changes, he definitely was a valuable asset in helping me navigate the large amount of options that are in the snowboarding world now!
