The Armada ARV 116 JJ is a powder ski ready to help advanced skiers channel their inner pro and slash through powder fields, drop big cliffs, and handle big mountain lines in the resort or back country with confidence. A massive 116mm underfoot with nice tapered rocker in the tips and tails, the ARV 116 can handle the deepest snow around, and with camber through the center, it can also handle high speeds and precise skiing in technical terrain.
Key Features:
- AR Freestyle Rocker Profile – The ARV 116 JJ has a directional twin tip rocker profile with full camber underfoot, this allows the ski to charge and handle big mountain lines with stability, while still maintaining the the freestyle flair of the ARV line.
- Smear Tech – The base of the tips and tails has a 3D Beveled shape too create a unique feel on snow. This helps prevent hang ups on take offs or in chopped up snow and crud. This also creates more balance in deep snow by self-centering the ski.
- Poplar and Ash Core – Armada uses lightweight Poplar wood with denser Ash wood l in to keep the skis strong enough to stomp landings and handle hard skiing with stability.
- AR75 Sidewalls and 2.5 Impact Edges – Armada uses full sidewalls through the center section of the ski and saves weight on the tips and tails, keeping the swing weight down and allowing the skis to turn and butter effortlessly. Armada also uses heat treated, oversized edges to keep them durable and able to handle landings, rails and boxes, and all forms of hard use.

I've been lucky enough to grow up with the Armada JJ as it established its presence in the new school world of skiing. From the first iterations, shaking up the new Rocker-Camber-Rocker segment of the industry, to the most current generations under a slightly new name, with the same great inspiration. The Armada ARV 116 JJ is a... Read more

The Original Powder King!
Originally posted at www.armadaskis.com on Mar 29, 2023When you are thinking about a new powder ski there is no need to look anywhere else. The ARV 116 was designed to float like a butterfly and sting like a... well you get my point! The 116 has enough edge grip and maneuverability to get you to your next powder lap while remaining strong enough to bash some crud up after it gets choppy. When you finally get off in the trees or that next open bowl is when this ski really comes alive, the big slashy turns and surf like feeling will have you seeking pow endlessly. I cannot remember a time when I haven't had face shots and a grin ear to ear on these skis.

Leo was fantastic!
5 /5
Leo curated the appropriate gear for my needs. He provided 2-4 options of skis, boots, bindings, and poles, which allowed me to choose. He was knowledgeable in comparisons and answering my many questions. He made purchasing gear easy, no pressure, and stress free, which buying the right gear for the right price usually is overwhelming for me. Curated was affordable and better priced then other online competitors, I like the return policy, and Leo's willingness to work with me throughout the process to ensure the best set up of gear. I would definitely recommend Leo and curated! I can't wait for some pow to test out the gear.

Such a great process
5 /5
I've ordered from curated before and had a phenomenal experience. I've been looking to upgrade my gear to increase my skills and David helped find the perfect match of what i'm looking for. He answered any and all questions with not just information about the ski's themselves, but personal opinion which I really appreciated. Looking forward to riding this setup this upcoming season.

Better than shopping in a store!
5 /5
I have been looking for skis for this upcoming winter, but honestly, i'm a rookie & had some (alot) of questions. I wanted to learn a little about what gear was recommended to me, and why it was selected- not because I didn't trust it- but, because I like to understand the thought process that goes into it! It's just the way I process things. But, Thomas was patient & happily explained everything to me. I also am horribly inconsistent with my response times, and regardless of when I messaged, he always responded in a matter of minutes. I feel like sometimes when I go shopping in person and someone is helping me, I feel pressured to take their recommendation, and like I have to buy something- so using curated was a lot more appealing to me, and I cannot recommend it enough!

The guy you want in your corner
5 /5
Mad respect for Chris who went the extra mile to find me the perfect fit. Every recommendation was followed up with a thorough comparison of all my options and what made them stand out from each other. He even recorded videos, dude. Really, what more could you ask for. And still he’s not the type to try to convince you that somethings great. He just offers up all the facts to let you sit back and feel things out for yourself. Super friendly, reassuring, and will never leave you hanging. I came back to Chris for new recommendations after ghosting him for an entire season and it felt like picking up where you left off with an old friend. Super knowledgeable about the sport and how certain brands will cater to your riding style. Really appreciated that he didn’t recommend the same style of board over and over from different brands. Since he tossed up boards that had a lot of differing features he helped me find something I hadn’t considered before and taught me so much about snowboarding along the way. So if you’re looking for something that will set you apart from the rest, Chris has your back. I ended up going with his top choice for me and I couldn’t be more jacked. Will definitely be coming back for advice down the line, and can’t wait to let him know how much his pick shreds this winter. Cheers mate!

Tyler made it easy…
5 /5
I’m so busy fighting fire and just haven’t had the time to really get into the details on the zillions of snowboards available. I did have time to share what I needed with Tyler and he was quickly responding with some recommendations. He seemed pretty dialed with his reasoning and helped finalize my choice. So less stressful having the help!
