The Salomon QST 106 is a free ride oriented ski that shines in deep snow and off-piste conditions, while still having plenty of hard snow capabilities to function as a great daily driver on the west coast, or for advanced skiers who prioritize powder and off trail performance. 106mm underfoot, with a long tapered rocker in the tips and tails, this ski is made to conquer deep snow and big mountain lines with confidence. With added Carbon, flax, and titanal they have precise handling and easy turn initiation, making them playful over the entire mountain.
Key Features:
- Poplar Wood Core – Salomon build the QST line around a full Poplar wood core. This creates a lively and stable ski that helps minimize vibrations.
- Cork Damplifier and C/FX – In addition to the Poplar wood core, Salomon adds cork in the tips and tails to help further reduce chatter, and use a layer of blended Carbon and Flax materials through the ski to increase torsional stiffness and stability at speed.
- TI Binding Reinforcement – Titanal is added edge to edge in the center of the ski to increase edge grip and carving performance without adding unnecessary weight.
- Full Sandwich Sidewalls – Full length sidewalls, with added high density ABS material underfoot, maximizes hard snow performance and edge grip through the camber of the ski.

I have been in love with the QST series since the start. I am a huge fan of the no-nonsense mid-flex and beefy feel. It feels substantial in the best way. That confidence-inspiring feel, added to the playful shape, allows any skier to feel ultimate control. They have added cork in the tips to minimize chatter and make some... Read more
Ideal for
- Someone who likes a really fun mid-flex ski, plays and charges with the best of them.
- Best for skiers who want a really predictable ski.
- Someone who wants a real one-ski-quiver.
Not ideal for
- It is on the heavy side.
- Skiers feel the mid-flex when pushing it really really hard.
- The turn radius is larger than some skis in this category.

The Salomon QST 106s are a great ski for intermediate and advanced skiers looking for a good everyday, all-mountain ski option. A middle-of-the-road turning radius, a stiff core, and wide tips and tails make this ski stable in all types of snow conditions. From groomers to chopped-up crud and even powder, these skis can do it all! While these skis... Read more

- Great all-mountain, directional ski.
- Capable of charging through chopped up snow but can carve on groomers, too.
- Great option for a one ski quiver-killer.

This product is the best for intermediate and advanced skiers. I have friends who drop 15 foot cliffs on these skis and I have friends who rip trees and groomers on the QSTs. On heavy days, these skis keep it smooth and quiet despite the variable conditions - yet they don't feel heavy. On powder days, these skis float with... Read more
Ideal for
- This product is best for all mountain skiing.
- Its responsiveness allows it to initiate turns with ease.
- The QSTs durability makes it a smooth charger in adverse conditions.
Not ideal for
- The ski holds up great in the backcountry, but is not the lightest touring ski available.

Great west coast daily driver
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on May 1, 2023I bought QST 106s last year to serve as my west coast daily ski. From powder to steeps and bumps these skis are great, surprisingly agile given the waist width. Probably a bit heavy for touring but great resort ski and small missions.

NO durability
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on Mar 20, 2023The QST serious are an incredible ski, for their weight and ride. I’ve been skiing the 99 and the 106s for the past four seasons and love the way they ski. But, they are a fragile ski. They have a problem that the core cracks, as I found on the 99 and that the edges are so weak compared to similar price/type of skis as I learned with the 106. If you want an amazing ski, but only want it for half a season before it fails in some way this is your skis. If you want a ski that is very similar but actually lasts more than half a season look elsewhere. Having ridden similar (like the Head Kore) skis in similarly hard charging rocky terrain and never had any durability issues I unfortunately have to move on to skis that last longer.

I said I wanted a setup on a budget, I'm in collage and work full time so It's not like I am going to be on the mountain every week. Tired of renting gear. Tyler didn't try to upsell me, at least it didn't feel like it. The board I came to him with he mentioned my toe would be over the edge of the board because it was narrow, thankfully he caught that, but he gave me some other options that were around the same price (actually cheaper) and would work with my boot size!

Super Helpful!!
5 /5
Ethan was extremely helpful and made shopping for skis easy. I wasn’t quite sure what skis I needed, but after a quick survey, he had the best options for me. He even made a quick video explaining each ski and why it would be the best for me. I always feel like salesman always try and sell you the most expensive products and don’t necessarily listen to you, but that is not the case at all! He found exactly what I needed in my price range! Highly recommend.

Taylor is THE best!
5 /5
Taylor remained with me throughout the entire shopping process. I first started chatting with her last year when I became more interested in snowboarding and was in the gathering information stage. She was more than helpful and recommended certain products that aligned with my ride style as well as experience. She was quick to respond and had great insight of every product that she recommended to me. Simply put, I probably wouldn't have purchased the products I did without her guidance. I can't wait to use my new products out on the slopes. Thank you, Taylor!!!

Exceptional Experience
5 /5
When I first found Curated and entered my details and was contacted by a sales rep, I was hesitant as I didn't want to have to deal with some pushy sales person. Well, my experience the complete opposite to any typical engagement with a sales person. Sarah was never pushy, always accommodating, happy to answer any questions and just generally a great person to speak with. I would highly recommend her to any snowboarder looking for new gear or even just great advice.
