I have been in love with the QST series since the start. I am a huge fan of the no-nonsense mid-flex and beefy feel. It feels substantial in the best way. That confidence-inspiring feel, added to the playful shape, allows any skier to feel ultimate control. They have added cork in the tips to minimize chatter and make some torsional changes, there is a difference since this change, for the better.
I've skied it at multiple mount points as well. I have found recommended mount points are best but can be really enjoyed at -4 back from core center mount. It skis really evenly, you can ski it neutral, forward, and a bit back seat, and it stays a blast. Oh, and you can go switch!
I've got 2 pairs of these. One for the resort and one with a pin binding. It. is. that. good.
I have tried 100's of skis, I am a sucker for time and true constructions of wood core, carbon stringers, full sidewalls, and a mid-high turn radius. Mix that with their shape, and you have a recipe for endless stoke-filled days on the hill.
Did I mention it's really, really good?
If you are an ex-racer, someone who loves some metal in the ski and wants your shred sleds to feel very alive underfoot, try it, but maybe look elsewhere. The dampness of the QST may feel sluggish to some.
If you are a skier who likes something lighter all around, this might not be the ticket either.
