Perhaps an interesting booth when you start skiing
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on Jan 27, 2025Most definatelly the worst booth i have had. I was a fan off Salomon booths for a long time, but this made me return them inmeadiately.
For downhill it's alright, but they feel very soft. The flex is nothing compared to a other 100 booth of a different brand.
Secondly the clips on this booth are not made properly. The first clip broke after 3 days, and 2 others are very deformed after 7 days of skiing. Looking for a replacement or warranty is a pain....
The buckle on the back to transform these booths for ski touring are clever, but are not always working properly. Sometimes they got open during some hard skiing... They are also not really moving freely, it feels a bit restricted.
The fit off the booth was also not very well for ski touring, in which it will result in some very bad blisters. It felt i was unable to thight the booth properly for this. But that can me my experience.
After trying to have some warranty or service, all customer support is hard to reach or you are beeing handled by some non thinking agents. In which you the support was very bad.
The booths are going back this afternoon, and I'm buying a different brand!

Way too soft, little movement in uphill, blisters
Originally posted at www.salomon.com on Jan 3, 2025this boot is neither great downhill nor does it walk well uphill. the 100flex is way softer than what a 100 should feel like while when using it to walk uphill on touring bindings the boot is heavy, walk mode provides not as much movement as promised while giving terrible heel flex that leads to blisters.
very disappointed in the boot. fit was good but actual user experience after a few rides is a let down.

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski. Ultimately, I was uncomfortable making the investment without trying the skis first, so I ended up buying a pair that I had rented several times and really liked. I had so many questions and came very close to purchasing skis a few months ago but now I that I have nearly finished this season I have a better idea of what I was looking for!
