Product details

The Black Crows Corvus Freebird Touring Ski stands out for being a fluorescent pink ski just as much as it stands out for being a strong backcountry daily driver. It balances the backcountry scale between downhill performance and lightweightedness for uphill performance. This is a great aggressive downhill touring ski.

Key Features:

  • Progressive Rocker – The front rocker allows for floatation and faster turn engagement, as well as better performance when breaking trail.
  • ABS Sidewall – The Corvus Freebird has plastic ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) sidewalls that help maintain torsional stability in high-consequence terrain, and also work to maintain edge hold.
  • Poplar Core with Carbon Fiber Laminate – A lightweight core with carbon fiber maintains stiffness throughout for consistent performance on the down and lightweight technology on the up.

This is a great product for a backcountry daily driver that also has enough get up and go to be a one ski quiver for both backcountry and frontside. From tip to tail this ski is a great performer. Tips have a nice progressive rocker great for staying afloat on powder days and breaking trail. The partial sidewall construction in the middle keeps the ski from loosing edges on firmer snow days or icy steeps. Then the flat tail allows for ski mountaineering usage and with a little pin tail helps the ski release from turn to turn cleanly.

With the words on the sidewall "Sensual Dancing" you'll be hard-pressed not to feel that way making turns down the mountain.

Pros
  • Great Touring daily driver
  • Easy to maneuver
  • Nice rocker profile for breaking trail
Cons
  • A bit chattery at high speeds
  • Tail profile can cause them to get hooked up in the turn
