The Smith Maze is a helmet that is great for riders of all levels. It is an affordable and reliable helmet that offers MIPS protection. It is also one of the more comfortable helmets out there. I use this helmet every time I ride and sometimes I forget I'm even wearing a helmet.
Ideal for
- Super comfortable. I forget that I am wearing it sometimes.
- Solid helmet for the price.
- Comfortable and adjustable chin strap.
Not ideal for
- The helmet could have more vents.

Originally posted at www.smithoptics.com on Oct 18, 2024I've worn Oakleys, Arnettes, Costas, Spys, and all the stuff off the rack at any given gas station. Bought a pair after hearing CA from Flats Class talk about them on either Waypoint or his YouTube channel, so I thought I'd try a pair. Liked them so much, I bought another! The sun protection and clarity of both pairs are amazing! I love the integrated lanyard. It let's me hang them on my neck or a rear view mirror as opposed to tossing them in the passenger seat or on my hair or hat for unwanted stress on the arms. Also let's me switch to my glasses to tie on a lure or read a quick text/email at work in the field. The frames are both comfortable and lightweight on the nose. I'd like to see about sending in one of my pairs for prescription lenses I like them so much! Great glasses!

As someone buying skis for the first time, but having skied for a few years Leo was incredibly helpful! He took into account what I prioritized but also explained why a suggestion might be out of my initial request. For example, he got ahead of my question on why bindings are expensive and why it is important to not only focus on the skis but the bindings as well.
