The Curated Take
This product is great for a beginner snowboarder that isn't experienced with strapping and unstrapping their bindings every run. It is also great for older snowboarders that don't want to hassle around with straps. Even experienced riders can use these bindings for a fast and easy way to mount into bindings. These bindings offer great way to always have your binding straps at the same spot each run. While using these bindings with size US 12/13 snowboard boots, I ran into a problem. Whenever I would try and push my boot back into the bindings, my boot wouldn't fit into the straps enough to allow the back to flip up. I would have to loosen the straps and then re tighten them to my desired tightness before going down the mountain. It wasn't a huge problem, but it's something to note if you do have a bigger boot size. One other con was my back binding that I would strap and unstrap every run wore out quicker than my front one. The plastic piece on the binding cracked. The crack wasn't too noticeable while riding but it was something I picked up on. Overall, these are a great binding for a beginner rider as the responsiveness isn't great and your boot tends to have some play since this is a softer binding.
- Easy strap on
- Quick load and unload on chairlift
- Beginners not to worry about straps
- Bigger boots tend to not fit without lossening straps
- Back binding wears quicker than front
The Fuse is a mid-flex binding that’s sick for hitting the park or getting creative on any terrain. The injected nylon base design, coupled with a one-piece asymmetrical hiback, gives you more lateral movement than carbon or aluminium variants. This makes it easier to lean into presses, tweak your kicker tricks or just bring a looser, less robotic style to your turns on the hardpack. Thanks to the Power-Triangle formed by the high-tensile steel cable between baseplate and hiback, there’s still a ton of toe-to-heel response on tap if you feel like hitting the accelerator. The Fusion ExoKush straps are thick and comfortable, with a single-piece design that maximises the rear-entry convenience and adds useful support across your midfoot. Entry and exit is super quick with the help of ActiveStrap Tech, which pops the whole footstrap up slightly as soon as you recline the hiback to create a bigger space for your boot. Locking Slap Ratchets, canted Bankbeds and three cool colorways complete an awesome all-round package that’s one of the most popular in our line.
