The Curated Take
This is my ideal binding for all mountain high performance. The stiffer highback and baseplate make for smooth efficient energy transfer edge to edge. The rubberized toe and heel are great for both dampening and impact support underfoot. I upgraded to the Atlas after riding the Strata last season and the Force for 8 seasons before that. I love running the Atlas on all my boards but I feel they perform the best with a stiffer cambered deck. I would recommend these to anyone who's building a binding quiver. When you need a little more 'umph' in your bindings this is my preferred choice!
- Carbon injection in baseplate mold makes energy transfer edge to edge lightning quick
- Vaporlite bushing absorbs vibrations under foot
- Tool-less adjustments makes switching up strap lengths and forward lean a breeze
- Stiff highback and baseplate not well suited for beginners
- Forward lean adjustment dial can get stuck sometimes
Union’s go to all-mountain binding for 10 seasons running, the Atlas is a Union team favorite for a reason. New for 22/23 we’ve upgraded the Atlas with the stiffer and more responsive S14 Duraflex CB highback and lightweight magnesium S1 ratchets. The Atlas puts you in control of the mountain.
