The Curated Take

This board can do it all! Stable, healthy amount of pop, fun to carve, but still forgiving with plenty of playfulness. I took it in the trees, found a little pow, spun side hits, buttered, charged some chop, and layed out deep carves on a groomer. It handled all of that just fine and pretty quickly I was thinking this board might be my new daily driver. While carving, it holds an edge like a champ and provides confidence, but with the flat profile between the feet it did not give up that aggressive feeling of laying out "deep trenches" like a board with more camber provides, but that is a trade off since this board was much easier to press and more forgiving than a camber board. Overall super fun and a great choice for anyone looking for a well-balanced ride-anywhere snowboard.

The Assassin Pro can be a great one board quiver or many riders. It offers a decent amount of pop and power and is super easy to maneuver and turn. If your need is exclusively speed, though, you might want to look elsewhere. The super lightweight materials used and great for hiking and easy on your legs while riding the lift but they hurt the stiffness and durability of the board. While this is definitely a higher-end board meant for more experienced riders, it will fall short of expectations for many experts who want more responsiveness, power and stability.

  • Super lightweight underfoot, on the lift and while hiking.
  • Nimble, playful and fun all around the mountain.
  • Forgiving for intermediate riders progressing their tricks and riding style.
  • Stiffness had to be sacrificed to make this board so light.
  • Base material didn't hold up as well as some other brands.
