Mammut Men's Stoney HS 3L Jacket

Reference: I'm 6' and 175lbs, and I chose to go with a Large.

I'm really excited about this jacket and its features. I was seeking something that's light enough for touring for most of the year, but that I can use on resort in any conditions. It's exceeded my expectations both for waterproofing and breathability. The vents and material allow for a lot more wiggle room in layers while touring, but I've been kept dry in some rough conditions (by CO standards at least). Really nice details, such as the thumb loops, well-placed pockets for access while wearing a pack, helmet hood, soft inner collar, removable skirt, and good cinches and zippers. I also really like the sleek, streamlined look without too many external bells and whistles. Also super durable and good for bushwhacking and adventurous skiing.

The fit is one of my favorite parts of this jacket. It's long, both in the body and sleeves, but it's not overly roomy. My only issue is with the collar, which sits pretty high and is intended to sit above your chin. Super nice when it's miserably cold, but in the way a bit for most days. It's also pretty snug, which makes it hard to layer with other hooded jackets. I usually ski with a hooded puffy under my shell on cold days, but the collar is almost too tight to fit a second hooded jacket underneath. Also, the roomy fit makes it hard to stop wind from getting in with less layers.
