This jacket is a great option for almost all conditions. The two layer Gore-Tex keeps me dry and warm, even on days when it is absolutely dumping. I wore this jacket in big storms many times and had no issue keeping dry at all. The built in powder skirt keeps the snow out even that Utah cold smoke that likes to somehow find it's way up in between the shell and your mid layer. Even when dropping cliffs and accidentally rolling forwards I found myself keeping the snow out without issue. The fact that the Gore-Tex is two layers makes the jacket warm enough for most days without adding too much underneath, but cool enough that without a mid layer I don't find myself overheating when it's warmer and sunnier. The pit zippers are great for cooling off after a run where I was really working hard. A key ring on the chest pocket and two other pockets give me plenty of room for keys, snacks, lip balm, and sunscreen.
