Hometown hero is hero on snow but a zero on firm hardback
Originally posted at www.burton.com on Mar 4, 2025This board just destroys everything when there is fresh snow on the ground, conditions are soft, or it’s freshly groomed in the mornings . It’s as quick edge to edge as you want it to be, handles the chop, chunder and piles great . Super quick and floaty in the trees. The harder you ride it the better it gets on the steeps . However on the super hard pack the edge hold is completely missing. The description says it’s supposed to be there , but it’s the not the hardpack ice gripper the description provided. Average at best unless your in the super steep pitches. . Was expecting way more predictability towards the end of the day on those temp and condition shifts scraped down to the hardpack and the HTH just doesn’t bite. This isn’t a board you can cruise around on blues and greens and get performance. It’s a board that has to be driven and ridden.

Tyler made great recommendations and really took the time to understand where my skill level is at and where I intend to ski.
