I put these Salomon Strive 14 bindings on my new 4FRNT Devastators last season and was thoroughly impressed with their performance and durability. They replaced my favorite bindings ever, the Salomon STH, and to be honest, I was a bit doubtful, given how much less metal there is in the Strives. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. These things have held up to a full season of patrolling (which ain't easy on any ski gear) and still look like they've got tons of life left in them. These bindings will stand up to seasons of abuse from the most aggressive of skiers. The Strive 14s also ski like a dream. Coming from the renowned STH's, these bindings ski just as well, if not better, with the low profile toe-piece and neutral stance allowing whatever ski you're on to shine how it's designed to. This enhances power transfer and makes the bindings ski very responsively and intuitively. They're not the lightest weight bindings on the market, but you can't beat the performance-to-weight ratio at this price point! I'd have a hard time recommending a different binding to anyone looking for an intermediate to advanced-level ski binding.
- Perfect blend of light-weight build and metal reinforced durability
- Auto-adjusting toe height makes life easy
- Super responsive and intuitive to ski on
- Toe-piece isn't full-metal like the STH
- Not the lightest binding on the market
The Strive 14 features an ultra low-profile toe piece which creates a low center of gravity. This enhances a skier’s power, control, and response due to enhanced sensitivity. The binding lets the characteristics of the ski and slope excel, creating better day on skis.
