- You get both utility and style in the all-purpose Cage Pant, lightweight and packable freeride pants made for ripping steeps, building kickers, and shoveling the deck. The burly, waterproof Stark 3-layer fabric blocks wind and sleet, while outer thigh vents and a breathable membrane keep moisture out. Two hand pockets plus a substantial thigh pocket store your phone and everything else.

Tough shell pant for skiing everyday
Originally posted at flylowgear.com on Jan 12, 2025These are the perfect pant for everyday. Great pocket storage, the synching waste and belt loops are great when the pockets are loaded with snacks. Side vents (without mesh) are a must for me while touring and skiing warm conditions. There is plenty of room for layering on cold days. The cuffs are tough - I wish there was similar protection on the knees and rear end. Bibs are too warm for me, these pants are perfect.

Luke was very helpful as I am new to skiing but I feel as if I'm acclimating faster than the average person. I wanted to get something a little more advanced that I could grow into quickly and it also be useful for all-mountain usage. At first I thought I had made my decision prior to talking to him about getting Volkl mantra 88's, but I determined with his help that a larger waist was going to be a more versatile ski for me in the Rockies. A few conversations later, I fell into the Rustler 9's instead of using Volkl mantra 88's or mantra 7's. He really helped push me in the right direction so I could make a targeted approach. I ski in Killington Vt where they are known to have extremely knowledgeable skiers/boarders, coaches etc. and they do to a degree but I will tell you that Ben was more helpful than all of them. I was told so many different things that didn't really line up with what I noticed when I demo'd skis but everything Ben said about the ski's I demo'd was spot on. I am grateful to have found him and will share my experience with others. Great guy - he worked hard and answered more questions that I would imagine he would care to but he answered them all and hung in there with me right through the end. If I am ever in Alaska, I hope to meet him and take some runs with him sometime!
