The Dakine Stoker Gore-Tex 3-L jacket is a suitable jacket for any rider looking to have some of the best protection from the elements the mountains throw at you. This is a light weight, durable, breathable and great looking jacket that offers great mobility and an awesome design.
In the first month of having this jacket I was really able to put in to the test in a variety of conditions. I rode with it at Stratton, Magic, Taos, Copper, A- Basin, Winter Park and Steamboat and experienced everything from rain, 60 mph winds in negative temps, DEEP powder, and 50 degree warm days. This jacket stood up to the test and was one of the most versatile jackets I've used to date. The water proofing is killer and you won't notice any wind!
Some of my favorite things about this jacket are its many pockets including the wrist pockets to hold a pass, the big hood that you can fit over your helmet, the mobility and the breathability. One of the downsides to me is that the jacket seems to run a bit big. If you're right on the cusp of sizes I would order the smaller one if you like a tighter fit and don't wear too many layers underneath. I wear a light puffy jacket underneath and find that to be perfect, but still has lots of room for more. I am 5'8 180lbs and wear the medium.
