Product details

From the mad scientists in the K2 lab, the versatile K2 Formula snowboard binding is an all-mountain freestyle binding that isn’t afraid to mix it up in the steeps, parks, or streets and is the preferred binding of global K2 pros and ams alike.

The Formula is built on our Profusion™ Chassis, a mid-to-stiff flexing fiberglass-filled-nylon construction that provides support and cushion for big tricks in the park and pointing it down spicy lines. The AT Nylon highback is responsive with just the right amount of flex and features our Gap Eraser™ forward lean adjustment to customize the response of your board. This forward lean technology allows your highback to have complete contact with your heel cup at any degree of forward lean. Complete contact equals full response.

The padded Custom Caddi™ 3D ankle strap provides a supremely comfortable and secure feel when the consequences are high, and the PerfectFit™ 2.0 toe strap hinges to fit any snowboard boot toe profile for comfort and fast response. The Formula’s Power Ramp is adjustable to evenly match the bottom of your boot outsole and combines with a 3º cant built directly into the chassis to create a natural riding position for big landings, solid take-offs, and even balance on all terrain.

Lastly, the aluminum ratchets are tough as hell and feature our integrated EZ Feed™ design and make strapping in quick and hassle-free.

This is a fantastic binding for the rider looking to ride all over the mountain. The nylon infused baseplate gives a very responsive feel, while the canted foam footbeds give you plenty of cushion for bigger hits and keep you comfortable all day.

The straps are great and easily adjustable. They conform very well to any boot, and the toe strap is actually my favorite one on the market right now. They also use a high quality ratchet and ladder system that locks in securely and easily to keep you planted and dial in fit.

The highbacks are stiff, and utilize a "gap eraser" technology that keeps your boot full against the heel cup regardless of how much forward lean you dial in. They offer great response, while maintaining enough flex to keep these bindings just a little more playful than a true freeride binding.

These are my go-to when I want to spend all day on the mountain riding a little bit of everything. I have taken them from the backcountry, to high alpine terrain inbounds, through the trees, and into the park, and have never felt let down by them. I have them mounted to a Ride Berzerker as a killer all mountain freeride setup.

The K2 Formulas are an awesome binding that work well all over the mountain.

Pros
  • Mid-stiff flex helps this binding perform well all over the mountain, from the park to riding big freeride lines.
  • Easy adjustment of toe and ankle straps, baseplate, and highback make for a customizable, comfortable fit.
  • Nylon infused frame offers great durability with a highly responsive feel.
Cons
  • For a park/freestyle rider, this may be a little stiff.
  • For riders who prefer a mini-disk, this has a standard size mountain disk, but has lots of mounting options.
  • Not the lightest binding on the market.
