Commercial Performance At Home
El Rocio, a relatively young coffee company coming out of Seoul, has come out swinging with their newest espresso machine offering for the home market. The Zarre V2, a small, yet robust machine, provides a powerful package with a compact footprint, and a big trick up its sleeve: complete control over pressure profiles right at your fingertips. This increasingly popular feature is combined with programmable, automatic capabilities, dual boilers, and impressive steam power. Along with various customization options, the Zarre is sure to deliver and delight those looking for a truly hands-on experience or repetition with a specific recipe.
Choose Your Control
The Zarre's outboard controller is where the true magic of this machine lies. A rotary knob wired to an internal vibratory pump allows you to manipulate the pressure and flow during every phase of your shot cycle for true experimentation with your espresso. However, the Zarre is not only meant to be used manually. This machine features innovative pre-brew programming, allowing the user to quickly fill the group at 0 bars before transitioning into a low pressure pre-infusion between 30%-60% pump power. Then, for the remainder of the total programmed shot time, the Zarre will automatically make a final transition into full pump power before ending the cycle. This is especially useful for early mornings and for those who choose to use this machine for light commercial use such as catering events or wedding.
An Abundance of Features
While the El Rocio Zarre includes what's generally expected of a premium, dual-boiler espresso machine, it also offers features that are only found in machines well above its price point. As water enters the coffee boiler, it is preheated in the steam boiler via a copper tube, maximizing recovery capability. An independently heated group head ensures that temperature consistency is never an issue, and the pressure being applied to your coffee is measured here instead of at the coffee boiler, providing a view of exactly what is taking place in real time. Automatic on, off, and sleep settings are also programmable via the controller, so it is no longer necessary to wait for your machine to heat up. Now your machine is waiting for you.
